CONGRATULATIONS JESKA VALK! Winner 2026 LCAP People's Choice Award.
Today was the end of the 2026 Local Contemporary Art Prize at the Caloundra Regional Gallery and Friends was pleased to host the People's Choice Award announcement. Jeska's work, Jellyfish, is a finely detailed, beautiful (oil on canvas) painting that the public clearly loved. The People's Choice Prize of $2000 was jointly funded by Community Bank Caloundra -Bendigo Bank and Friends of the Art Gallery.

The 2026 LCAP is currently on at the Caloundra Gallery. The 40 finalists are all on display and it is a fabulous, varied and interesting selection of works. Make sure you see it before it finishes on 17 May.
The Judge decided Marvene Ash's work was the "Best of Show".

2026 LOCAL CONTEMPORARY ART PRIZE - ON NOW!
This year's LCAP was launched tonight to a big crowd.
Congratulations to all the 40 finalists and especially the winners:

3D Excellence - Samantha Mays

Friends was pleased to jointly sponsor the major prize with the Sunshine Coast Council this year and delighted that 2 of the prize winners, Marvene and Samantha are members.
