If you’re seeing this… this is your sign.

Fuel prices — ridiculous.
Food prices — out of control.
Rent — climbing higher every month.

Right now, putting fresh food on the table isn’t as simple as it used to be. We see it every day.

That’s why Gateway Care exists.

Even our colour was chosen with purpose - something different. Something you don’t see everywhere. A colour that makes you pause and think, “I feel at peace here.”

Because there is hope.

Not in a name… but in the fact that there’s a place right here on the Sunshine Coast that genuinely cares about people - about families, and about you.

If you haven’t been in before, come and experience it for yourself.

Head into our Family Store on Wednesday 1/4 for some fun Easter activities

If you visit the shops or look at any advertising you’ll see a whole lot of symbols of Easter.

Bunnies.
Hot cross buns.
Easter eggs.
Chickens.
Easter flowers.
The cross.
Palm branches/crosses.
Bonnets…

I’m sure you can name some more.

This coming Wednesday, (1st April - and no, it’s not a joke!) you’re welcome to join us at our Caloundra Road Family Store as we consider some of these symbols and their significance. Let’s chat about Easter and why it’s a crucial time in our history and a vital time for our lives right now.

Join a hunt after 10:30am for three different symbols printed on cards that will be hidden around the store - a cross, a heart and an egg. Present them to our special Easter display area for a yummy chocolate egg!

Look forward to chatting with you there. Activities will be held in store from 10:30-12:30.

Orange Sky Laundry are at our House 4 Hope on Wednesdays from 9am. We love having the Sunny Coast team join us In helping our community each week and appreciate how welcoming and friendly you are.
At the same time, a big shout out to our barbecue crew who do a great sausage sizzle and our friendly neighbourhood musician for coming and serenading us.

Wednesdays at the house… oh, so good!

Did you know Queensland is where Orange Sky was born?

Since 2014, Queensland has been a place where connection has grown - from our very first shift in Brisbane to thousands of shifts across 17 communities. It’s all thanks to the dedicated volunteers, supporters and partners who keep the wheels turning, the washing machines spinning and the conversations flowing every day.

We’re so grateful to everyone behind our mission who makes this impact possible 🧡

For Troy, helping young people understand money isn’t just a job — it’s personal.

Growing up in foster homes and residential care, he had little guidance when it came to life or finances. Today, he’s determined to give young people the financial literacy, confidence and knowledge he never had.

A turning point came when a case worker told him, “Your future is bound by your decisions.” Over time, Troy realised that while his early life was incredibly tough, he still had options. He committed to learning, pushed through trade school, TAFE and banking and built both a career and financial security.

Now, through his role of leading a statewide Salvos Moneycare team, Troy shares real-life lessons with students — from the dangers of payday lending and spiralling debt to smarter alternatives like the NILS (No Interest Loan Scheme) for essentials. By grounding his teaching in everyday examples and lived experience, Troy helps young people understand the real cost of debt and make wiser financial decisions for their future.

He has adapted Moneycare’s free resource — You’re the Boss — for schools and TAFEs to help young people build strong money skills early.

You can also build your money skills with You’re the Boss, a free Moneycare resource full of practical tools and tips to boost your financial confidence and help you believe in good for your financial future: https://bit.ly/3ZllkUE

Yes, we're gathering for church this morning as usual - at 10am. We will be commencing our "Summer Psalms" series with a look at Psalm 136 tomorrow. "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever."

All are welcome to join us, and stay around for morning-tea afterwards on the deck. Activities will be made available for kids to complete during the meeting.

We are deeply saddened by the events that unfolded at Bondi yesterday, and our thoughts are with the families and community affected.

Bondi Beach brings people together as a place of connection and celebration, and we are devastated that this was taken away from the Jewish community through an act of terror.

Orange Sky has always been a place for anyone - regardless of their background, beliefs or experiences - to connect in a safe space, free of judgement. Our six orange chairs will be even more important than ever this week for people to come together across our 450 shifts around the country, but particularly within the Sydney community.

Connection, hope and inclusivity sit at the heart of Orange Sky's services, and it's our hope that they offer a reminder that there's goodness in the world that far outweighs the actions of yesterday.
