We were honoured to provide nest boxes for Sunshine Coast Council’s Kirby’s Road Environment Reserve. It’s always rewarding to see our products out in the field doing their job.

Biodiverse’s Natural Areas Rehabilitation team have completed (and are continuing to complete) numerous rehabilitation projects in recent times.

Part of a recent project included the removal of w**d trees. One of the w**ds tree species included in this project was the removal of Camphor laurels (Cinnamomum camphora).

Camphor laurel trees are removed because they are a highly invasive species that outcompetes and displaces native vegetation, leading to a loss of biodiversity and damage to ecosystems.

This project also includes to revegetate the site with native tree species after removal of the Camphor laurels.

Below are the before and after photos of the removal of the invasive Camphor laurel trees.

What a great find by the team!

A total of 6 Koalas (Phascolarctos cinereus) were seen by our fauna spotter catchers
whilst out at a site near Gympie, including this mother and joey.

Having our fauna spotter catchers on-site ensured the koalas were being kept safe
during the project and remained completely out of harm’s way.

Before and after photos of our Bush Regeneration team performing w**d treatment in Samford Valley, Queensland.

Removing the w**ds in an area can greatly assist the growth of the native species, due to increased sunlight and less competition for available water and nutrients.

Fantastic effort, Bush Regen team!
