Ecotech is expanding the service capabilities we can provide to our clients.

Our team were tasked with monitoring the bank bed of Lake MacDonald during draw down works, with environmental monitoring such as water quality, erosion and aquatic species being the focus of the surveys.

During the works, our team were able to contribute fauna and environmental monitoring services by efficiently surveying Lake Macdonald from the sky through the use of our drone fleet.

A happy release moment to end the week.

These cute little faces belong to Common Ringtail Possums (Pseudocheirus peregrinus).

Common Ringtail Possums are tree-dwelling native marsupials that prefer to live in rainforests, eucalyptus forests and thick vegetation.

These two adorable creatures were released by our team on behalf of WILVOS, who looked after them until they were ready to return to the wild.

Planned burns are complex assignments.

Making sure we have all the right equipment and contingencies for a planned burn is essential to ensure successful outcomes.

Some of the essential fire equipment that Biodiverse uses when undertaking planned burns include our specialised Medium Tankers and Light Attack Vehicles, equipped with drip torches, rakehoes, UHF Radios and fire hoses.

Utilising the proper fire equipment ensures planned burns are completed correctly and safely, with fire hoses being especially important. These can be used for many reasons, including to control fire intensity and keeping flames out of the tree canopy.

Spotlight on our freshwater aquatic species.

We have an amazing array of aquatic freshwater species here in south-east Queensland.

Our team feel privileged to be able to see and work with some of these unique species up close and personal every day.

Coming across these species allows our team to not only experience these species first-hand, but also allows us to show you some of the creatures that we are lucky enough to share this area of the world with.

What are our ecologists doing in the water? Looking for fish, of course.

Aquatic dewatering can be a long, tedious procedure for our fauna spotter catchers, ensuring that no aquatic fauna is left behind during the process.

During aquatic dewatering, our team use a range of technologies to help the process run smoother and to ensure the safety of the staff and the aquatic fauna involved, including custom-made, aerated storage tanks for housing aquatic fauna and using drones to perform aerial inspections of the works.

Using these modern technologies enables the team to perform the practical side of aquatic ecology work with efficiency and reliability.

Contributing to restoration projects and community green spaces across the coast.

Following the damage to the Golden Beach foreshore during the events of Cyclone Seth in 2021 and Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred in 2025, the area required some love and attention.

Biodiverse joined up with Australian Marine and Civil, to help restore and revegetate the area into a useable and safe space again, with our team contributing its' bush regeneration services to the project.

Through rehabilitation and revegetation, the team has contributed to green spaces across the coast for the community to use and enjoy.

Helping to find our native wildlife a new home.

Suitable habitat is becoming increasingly scarce for our native wildlife, especially for species that rely on specific native flora species for food and shelter.

We regularly assist one of our local wildlife rescue organisations, WILVO’s, by coordinating possum releases at various Land For Wildlife properties located at all ends of the coast.

With our knowledge, we are able to find suitable properties for a number of different species, including Ringtail Possums, Common Brushtail Possums and Short-Eared Brushtail Possums, making sure that they will be able to thrive in their new home, with access to plenty of suitable habitat for food and shelter.
