Welcome to CAFNEC Marine Response Team’s official supporter page! We will be sharing news, the latest science and everything you need to know about protecting our marine life and the activities of the CAFNEC Marine Response Team. Our fish, dolphins, dugongs, turtles and corals face a daunting range of threats but we can make a positive difference. The Marine Response Team will take proact
ive action to educate the public and decision makers and prevent threats. We will respond to existing threats by awareness raising, direct activities to protect and restore threatened habitat and facilitating community involvement in decision making. We are hands on and seek to build a fun and dynamic team of like minded people who are prepared to give their time and help others to take action for our sea life. This page is for you, our supporters, and we encourage open and constructive participation but please keep it clean. Remember the diversity we have in our group means our page is read and used by all kinds of people, including young families. Before posting something, please consider the impact that your comments may have on others, or their interests. Comments that will be removed and may see you banned from the page include any post that is in breach of our guiding principles of politeness, respect, safety, non-commerciality, confidentiality and legal compliance. CAFNEC Marine Response Team will be the sole determiner of whether a post, or user, should be removed from the page. If removed from the site, CAFNEC Marine Response Team is under no obligation to provide justification. If a post or user is removed for any reason other than a breach of non-commerciality, we will endeavour to contact the poster concerned, and will identify the reason for the removal. CAFNEC Marine Response Team does not have any obligation to respond to posts and messages, although we will endeavour to do so where a response is appropriate and necessary. Finally, while we always endeavour to share content from credible/reputable sources, the appearance of external links on this page does not constitute official endorsement on behalf of the CAFNEC Marine Team or our team members. Now that you’ve read the boring bit, head to our timeline to check up on what’s been happening recently. Remember, this is your page, so be sure to let us know if you want to see more (or less) of anything! The best way to do this is with a like or a share :-)

---Consider the impact of what you post---
We encourage all our volunteers and supporters to participate on our page however before posting something, please consider the impact that your posting may have on others – for example, CAFNEC Marine Team members and supporters – and on the team’s reputation and brand, and its obligations to individuals, to partner organisations and to the community at large.
---Our guiding principles---

The goal of our social media strategy is to offer Cairns and Far North communities the opportunity to learn about, and become involved in the conservation of, our local marine environment. Please remember our team members are people too, who are certainly not perfect and who do sometimes make mistakes. Let's stay focused on working together and continually improving our approach and resources to achieve better conservation outcomes for the local marine environment.
