This is an early intervention and prevention program that supports families to protect children. Outreach workers provide intensive family support to families with children 0 – 18 years old, who are ‘at risk’ and who require individual support to develop and improve safety. We work to build resilience, strengthen families and help build a more supportive and developmentally appropriate environment in which to raise their children. ATHERTON BASED
Tablelands Womens Support Service- Centre Based Support & Immediate Crisis Housing
In Atherton we have 8 units of independent safe secure housing for women escaping domestic violence. We can assist you to escape a domestic violence situation, provide you with immediate accommodation and work with you to establish safe and secure permanent housing for you and your children. Domestic Violence Court Support – Outreach & Centre based
We also provide Domestic Violence Court Support to women attending the Mareeba and Atherton Magistrate Court. We can provide information and assistance about applying for a Domestic Violence Protection Order and attend court and support you during the process. Domestic Violence Protection Orders are put in place by the court to protect the aggrieved from the violence and intimidating behaviors of the respondent .
