Great to see more than 120 business owners, leaders and managers come together for the Workforce Evolution in FNQ event.

We had some of our Centacare FNQ managers attended alongside our Executive Director, Anita also representing the Regional Jobs Committee as Chair.

The day sparked important conversations about the future of work, workforce attraction and retention, and how organisations can adapt to changing workforce expectations.

Centacare FNQ was also proud to host an employer support stall, sharing information about the services we provide to support employers, including our Disaster Business Readiness program.

One message stood out: building a strong future workforce will take collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment across our region.

It's not too late to build a future in construction.

Our Cert I Construction Program is designed to help participants gain practical skills, industry experience and nationally recognised tickets while connecting with real employment and training opportunities.

With White Card and First Aid certification, driver licence support, hands-on workshop experience and pathways into apprenticeships and employment, this program provides the foundations for a career in the construction industry.

What a fantastic morning at the special edition of the Rotary Club of Cairns West Breakfast Club at the Manoora Neighbourhood Centre.

Centacare FNQ was proud to host Queensland Council of Social Service for a community breakfast and a bit of fun with our Pancake Flip competition.

It was wonderful to see families, community leaders, partners and local supporters come together to connect, share conversations and celebrate the importance of giving every child the best possible start in life.

In Far North Queensland, many families are continuing to face challenges including rising rents, housing pressures and barriers impacting education and opportunity for young people. That’s why Centacare FNQ is proud to partner with QCOSS through the Raising Queensland campaign, working together to help raise the standard for every child, in every community across Queensland.

Programs like the Breakfast Club are about more than just breakfast. They help create connection, routine and support for local children and families, with real impacts already being seen through improved school attendance, confidence and engagement.

A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Cairns West , and everyone who joined us this morning and helped make the event such a success.

Centacare FNQ has officially launched a new partnership with Smithfield Shopping Centre, expanding outreach services across Cairns’ Northern Beaches.

As part of Smithfield’s new All-Ages Community Engagement Initiative, our team will now deliver outreach services from the centre three days a week, helping connect local families and community members with practical support close to home.
The new outreach presence will support:
• School Savvy family support services
• Disaster Recovery and Resilience programs
• Employment and Training pathways
• Community connection and support referrals
This partnership is all about creating accessible, welcoming spaces where people can connect, seek support and build stronger pathways for themselves and their families.

Thank you to Smithfield Shopping Centre and all community partners involved in bringing this important initiative to life. We look forward to growing these connections across the Northern Beaches community.
