Have you noticed African Tulips are flowering at the moment? 🌺

They are an introduced species, which are terribly weedy and outcompete our locally native plant species 🌳

Help one of our passionate volunteers log all of their locations when you see one, to help build the database required to bring it to the local and state Governments attention (and hopefully a funded eradication program).

A special shout out to one of our amazing volunteers, 7yo Jyran, who ran a huge 2km in the 7Cairns Marathon Festival last month, and raised $230 in donations for Treeforce Cairns 👏🏃

$230 can buy us 92 baby trees to put towards our future planting efforts 🌱

Thank you so much Jyran! 🙏

Another great day at Cairns Council’s ! As always we ran a potting up activity to educate kids about the need to actively regenerate sites. And to connect visitors to the great revegetation groups in their region.

Coordinator Sarah made lots of screen printed shirts with our revegetation and nature science designs! They were very popular, and lots of people took up the option for a membership as well.

Another joyous event at Ecofiesta cairns 2026!

Vandalism on Freshwater creek part 5!

Over recent years, young vandals have arson attacked sites, ripped up trees, and thrown whole plantings in Freshwater creek.

In today’s vandalism event, over 100 trees ripped out by kids and tossed around for no reason. Fortunately a friend of Treeforce beeped and called the police for us. We were on site 5 minutes later, but the kids were gone.

Witnesses say today’s attack was a small group of kids, early high school age just before 4pm Sunday afternoon. Probably headed West in direction of Redlynch. Anyone know their kids were at devils leap around this time? They did several hundreds of dollars damage in just a few minutes!

Our recreational rainforest park areas like Goomboora, Glenoma and Devils Leap have been created by Treeforce and Cairns Regional Council over the last 30 years as a community resource. Attacking these is attacking the very areas that sustain you.

If you see vandals, please call them out, or beep your car horn and call the police for us. Film the kids responsible, and let Treeforce know on messenger ASAP.

These trees were put in by the community, and will cost hundreds of dollars to replant and replace. Treeforce are building a community resource for future generations! Don’t wreck it, it’s the same process that gave you the rainforest parks and cycleways of Redlynch
