🌱 Plant the seed today is made possible through The MaraWay’s Australian Government funded Youth Empowerment Program -together we are growing leaders for tomorrow. 🌱

A huge thank you to Samantha Martin – Bush Tukka Woman for being part of The MaraWay’s dream and helping bring our vision for the Bush Tukka Farm to life. 💚

Through the Plant the Seed Program, our young people are connecting with culture, Country and community while learning practical skills in growing, harvesting and cooking native bush foods.

This is about more than growing food — it’s about growing confidence, cultural pride, skills and opportunity.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Sam walking alongside our young people and helping us plant the seeds for a stronger future. 🌱

🖤💛❤️ Strong community. Strong partnerships. A strong future.

Over the past few months, The MaraWay has received incredible support. We are humbled to see our community coming together around a shared vision, creating new opportunities for young people and families while strengthening culture, identity and connection to Country.

Together, we hope to offer paid positions in the future, supporting employment and training for young people and their families on the farm and through our partners, while creating opportunities to build strong and sustainable enterprises.

We are also deeply grateful to the families and organisations who have trusted us with 57 referrals since delivery began. We do not take that trust lightly. It shows us that our community believes in this vision, and we will continue working hard to honour it.

Not all our valued partners, supporters and staff are pictured here, but don’t worry. You will be seeing their sensational work shared each week!

🌱🖤💛❤️ Planting Our Seeds, led by Sam (Bush Tukka Woman ), is what strong partnerships look like.

With Samm’s special blend of cultural mentoring, bush tukka knowledge and genuine care for our young people, participants build confidence, connection and pride in who they are.

They then bring that learning back to The MaraWay’s Bilwon Farm, where they continue growing, learning and leading on their own Youth Farm.

Together, we’re not just planting seeds. We’re growing strong futures.

A great little behind the scenes catch up today!

While people often see the outcomes, they don’t always see the hard work behind the scenes. Every conversation, partnership, planning session and shared idea helps create opportunities that change lives.

It was wonderful to catch up with Colleen Homes, Managing Director of Skills Explorer, and reflect on the positive impact we’ve created together supporting First Nations, Migrant and refugee women over the years. We’re excited to continue building this partnership and creating even more opportunities into the future.
