The Cairns Botanic Gardens are renowned for having Australia’s best collections of tropical plants including specimens from Northern Australian rainforests and species from Southeast Asia. The Friends are proud to display beautiful images here as well as provide you with information about our membership and volunteer programs. ns. Members usually meet at the Cairns Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre on the second Wednesday of the month (6:30pm). The meetings kick off with a simple BBQ followed by a presentation from a guest speaker on a diverse range of topics.

Friends of the Botanic Gardens potted Heliconia clearance sale will take place next Wednesday 24th June at the Saltwater Depot Nursery (entry off Greenslopes St opposite Little St) from 08.30 am - 11.00am.
There are limited numbers of plants with prices starting from $5 each.
On offer are the following;

Friends of the Botanic Gardens is holding a garden competition for members which will be judged in September with prizes kindly provided by Limberlost Nursery. The four categories are listed on the poster and entry forms are available at "Friends House" which is open Monday - Friday from 09.30am until 3.30pm inside Flecker Gardens.
If you are not yet a member, you can join for $15 per year at Friends House. We look forward to seeing your wonderful garden entered in this competition.

FOBG next information evening will be on Saturday 11th July. Walk will start from "Nature Play" in Centenary Lakes precinct off Greenslopes St near the big red pillars at 5.30 pm. Bring a torch and mossie repellant. Look forward to seeing you there.
