🔥💜 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOUT OUT TO GENAVIE! 💜🔥

We've been so busy doing what we do that we completely missed a pretty special milestone a few weeks ago! 😅

Our very first full-time employee, Genavie, officially celebrated her 1 year work anniversary with Bori Muy LTD! 🎉👏🏽

Although Genavie has been part of Bori Muy since day one, it's been just over 12 months since she officially stepped into her full-time role.

What a massive year it's been!

From coordinating programs, mentoring our young people, supporting families, organising activities and keeping everything running behind the scenes, Genavie has been a huge part of everything we've achieved.

A lot of people see the work we do out in community, but don't always see the long hours, late nights, weekends and sacrifices that go into making it all happen.

Through all the challenges, growth and achievements over the past year, Genavie has continued to show up and give her all. Not because it's just a job, but because she genuinely cares about our young people, our families and our community.

She's more than just our Program Coordinator. She's a leader, a mentor, a role model and a big part of the heart and soul of Bori Muy. 💜

We might have missed the actual date, but we definitely haven't forgotten how much you do and how much you mean to this organisation.

Thank you, Genavie, for everything you've put into Bori Muy over the past year and for continuing to believe in what we're building.

Happy 1 year anniversary! Here's to many more years of making a difference together! 🙌🏽

Meet Tibau Banu

We first met Tibau just over a year ago. A very shy young man, always with a big smile on his face, respectful, polite and a pleasure to be around.

Since connecting with Bori Muy, Tibau has grown in confidence and even stepped up to volunteer his time to support the work we do.

Over time, Tibau has become more than just a young person we support. He's become part of the Bori Muy family. The kids love him, the staff love him, and we couldn't imagine our family without him.

This is Tibau's story, told in his own words, about how he connected with Bori Muy and the difference it's made in his life.

What a deadly few days on Country! 🌴🎣

Bori Muy had the pleasure of hosting a camp for the young people from Mission Australia Mareeba, creating an opportunity to get out on Country, connect with culture and enjoy the simple things in life.

From fishing, rolling out the swags and sleeping under the stars, enjoying a traditional Kup Murri, swimming in crystal-clear creeks and soaking up the beauty of Country! 🏕️🌿

It's more than just a camp! It's about giving our young people the opportunity to disconnect from everyday distractions, build meaningful connections, strengthen their cultural identity and create memories that will last a lifetime.

A big thank you to Mission Australia Mareeba for trusting Bori Muy to host this experience for your young people. We loved having you all out on Country!

🌟Proud Moment for Bori Muy 🌟

Last month, our Youth Mentor Kyeema had the incredible opportunity to travel to Adelaide and participate in the SNAICC Youth Gathering 2026 .

We’re extremely proud to see Kyeema stepping into opportunities like this, representing Bori Muy, connecting with other young people and leaders, sharing experiences and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

For us, these opportunities are about much more than attending an event. It’s about learning, listening, building connections and bringing that knowledge back home to strengthen the work we do with our young people, families and community.

One of the things we’re passionate about at Bori Muy is creating opportunities for our own young people and staff to grow into strong, confident leaders who can make a difference in their communities.

Kyeema, we’re proud of you for stepping outside your comfort zone, taking up this opportunity and representing yourself, your mob, your community and Bori Muy with pride. 💪🏾
