✨ Today was the beginning of something special. ✨

Bori Muy & Kylie Young Consultancy kicked off EmpowerHer Pathways — a 7-week journey created to support, empower and build confidence in young women as they take their next steps towards training and employment.

Our first session was a soft introduction to the program — an opportunity to get to know each other, build connections and create a safe space for open and meaningful yarns.

Today, our young women shared their aspirations, dreams and goals for the future. We yarned openly about what goal setting looks like and, together, mapped out our own individual goals — breaking down the bigger picture into achievable steps towards where we want to be.

There is something powerful about creating a space where young women can dream boldly, speak their goals out loud and begin to see a pathway towards the future they envision for themselves.

Today wasn't about having all the answers. It was about taking that first step, backing yourself and believing in what is possible. 🌱💜

We are absolutely proud of these beautiful strong young women for being courageous today. This is just the beginning. ✨

Gen had the pleasure of yarning with Ruby today from BBM98.7 about our EmpowerHer Pathways Program, kicking off next week!

In partnership with Kylie Young Consultancy we’ll be delivering a 7-week program with workshops tailored to supporting young women to build self-determination, confidence and the skills they need to take their next step into training and employment.

We’re all about creating pathways, building confidence and empowering young women to back themselves and their future. 💪🏽✨

💙 FAREWELL & GOOD LUCK, TERRY! ⚓

Today was an emotional day for the Bori Muy family as we said goodbye to one of our amazing youth volunteers, Terry.

Terry has brought so much great energy to Bori Muy. He was always smiling, always willing to put his hand up, and always ready to help wherever he could — whether it was at our youth activities, community events or just lending a hand around the place.

Terry is now heading off to write an exciting new chapter in his journey as he begins a career with the Royal Australian Navy. ⚓

Terry, thank you for everything you have contributed to Bori Muy and our community. Your energy, attitude and willingness to give back have been greatly appreciated, and you’ll definitely be missed.

From everyone at Bori Muy, we wish you nothing but success in this next chapter. Keep working hard, keep being yourself and keep making us proud.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s good luck on the next part of your journey. 💙

Today, Bori Muy attended the Family Support Day at Bentley Park College, connecting with local services and organisations to help families learn about the support available and who they can access when needed.

A big thank you to Bentley Park College for having us and for helping strengthen the links between the school, community organisations, families and students.

A massive GOOD LUCK to Genyka as she takes another big step forward with a job trial at Good Brew Drive Thru – Cairns!

Genyka recently completed her Certificate II in Hospitality through GR8Motive, and now she’s putting those skills into action and taking the next step towards a career in the hospitality industry.

Bori Muy first connected with Genyka through our She Got Game program, and since then we’ve watched her confidence grow and seen her continue to knock down barriers and create opportunities for herself.

At Bori Muy, this is what it’s all about — supporting our young people to build confidence, gain skills, find their pathway and grow and thrive. We are extremely proud of you, Genyka. Keep putting in the work and backing yourself!

A huge thank you to the team at Good Brew Drive Through Coffee for giving one of our young people this opportunity. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – EMPOWERHER PATHWAYS

Bori Muy LTD and Kylie Young Consultancy are partnering to deliver EmpowerHer Pathways, a 7-week program designed to support young people to build their confidence, skills and capacity as they prepare to enter the workforce.

We are looking for 12 motivated young people aged 16–25 years old, who are eager to take the next step towards employment, training and future opportunities.

Throughout the 7-week program, participants will build skills and confidence in:

✨ Confidence & Self-Determination– recognise your strengths, set goals and build belief in yourself
💰 Financial Literacy– develop practical money management skills and financial confidence
💻 Digital Literacy– strengthen essential digital skills for employment and everyday life
📄 Résumé Writing– develop a professional résumé and learn how to showcase your strengths and experience
🗣️ Communication Skills– build confidence communicating with employers, colleagues and others
🛠️ Practical Employment Skills – gain practical tools, knowledge and strategies to become job-ready
🎯 Employment Pathways – explore employment, training and development opportunities and identify your next steps

Who can participate?
Young people aged 16–25 who are ready to learn, build their confidence and develop practical skills for their future.

Only 12 places are available.

🟡🔴 What an exciting weekend ahead for these young people 🟡🔴

Six young people from Cairns and Yarrabah who participated in the 2026 HM & OFM Cairns NAIDOC Edor Carnival have been selected to attend the Gold Coast Suns Academy Indigenous & Multi-Cultural Experience 🌟

What a fantastic opportunity, proudly enabled by the Gold Coast Suns, giving these young people the chance to experience life as an athlete, get an insight into what it takes to reach the top, and be inspired by those who have made it there.

And the biggest highlight of the weekend? Watching Cairns local superstar Heidi Talbot make her AFLW debut! 🙌🏽🔥

What a massive achievement for Heidi. From a young local talent to stepping onto the AFLW stage, congratulations, Heidi! We are all incredibly proud of you. 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽

To our six young people, enjoy every moment, soak it all in, learn, connect and make the most of this incredible opportunity. Big thank you to PCYC Yarrabah Mentor Bernice Yeatman and Bori Muy Mentor Sonny Bin-Grape for travelling and supporting the youngsters.

Every Friday night, we create a safe, welcoming space where young people can come together, have fun, build positive relationships, stay active, and connect with trusted mentors. Whether it's playing sport, having a yarn, learning new skills, or simply sharing a meal, these nights are about giving our young people somewhere they belong.

Programs like Moonlight on the Southside don't just keep young people busy—they build confidence, strengthen community connections, and create opportunities for positive choices that can change lives.

A huge thank you to DYIDG for partnering with Bori Muy to make this program possible. Your ongoing support and the meals you provide each week mean so much. Sharing a meal brings everyone together, and for some of our young people, it's one less thing they have to worry about on a Friday night.

Together, we're creating safer communities, stronger futures, and making sure our young people know they are valued, supported, and never alone.
