Mental Health education session in Airlie Beach

Tackle your feelings -

A huge thank you to James and Ash for their fantastic presentation for our Crusader U15 girls at the North Queensland Country Carnival.

Your message was both inspiring and practical, providing valuable strategies that our team can take with them both on and off the field.

Some of the key takeaways included-

- Choosing positive thoughts over negative ones.

- Playing to our strengths and focusing on what we do well.

- Controlling the controllables rather than worrying about things outside our influence.

- Keeping our cool in frustrating situations and responding with composure.

- Recognising when we are overthinking and learning how to refocus.

- Making a plan when we fear the worst, rather than letting uncertainty take over.

- Understanding the importance of our support networks and knowing who we can rely on for help and encouragement.

Your presentation provided important reminders about resilience, mindset and the power of positive thinking.

We appreciate the time and energy you invested in making a meaningful impact on our Country Carnival experience.

Appreciation post!

A huge thank you to Mel Olsen for all the incredible work, support and knowledge you’ve shared with our U15 Crusader girls team this week.

Mel has worked closely with NRL & AFL teams in the past including St George Illawarra Dragons, the Brisbane Lions and now the CRUSADERS!

Your guidance on nutrition, refuelling, hydration and recovery has helped our players better understand how to fuel their bodies for training, game day and overall wellbeing.

The practical tips and ideas you’ve provided have given our young athletes valuable tools they can use both on and off the field.

From post training recovery snacks and hydration strategies to the importance of balanced meals and adequate rest, your contribution has played an important role in helping our players develop healthy habits and perform at their best.

Thank you for helping our young athletes learn the importance of looking after their bodies so they can recover well, stay healthy and continue to grow as players and individuals.

From all of the U15 Crusaders players, coaches and families, we are grateful for the time, energy and passion you’ve invested in our team.

Our Under 15 Crusader girls came together tonight to reflect on what it means to be a Crusader.

Each player chose a position on the field they aspire to play and selected a word that represents what being a Crusader means to them.

Their words spoke volumes: sportsmanship, family, resilience, culture, communication, pride, sisterhood, identity, new experiences, new friendships, generational history, representing community, opportunity, preparation, fun, diversity, respect, and commitment.

These values reflect far more than football, they represent who we are, where we come from and the legacy we continue to build together.

We are proud of these young ladies and excited to see them grow both on and off the field. 💪🏽
