Be it riding, volunteering, if Kaylene Noble is upright, she's on the ride. Always smiling, always with the biggest heart, always a delight to be around.

Today we're taking our hats off and saying cheers to this young man, one of the great "gentleman" of the ride - Brian White.

Today it's his birthday!

Now he might not have ridden with us to Cooktown for a couple of years, but he's very much still part of the Cardiac Challenge "family" and we'd like to acknowledge his contribution over many years.

As some of you may know, Brian is living with Parkinson's Disease and we have to say, he is one of the most determined individuals we know.

Happy birthday, Brian - you're an example to us all!

💙 A huge thank you to Peter and Steve from Lions Club of Edmonton Lions Club of Edmonton 💙

We’re grateful to Peter and Steve from Lions Club of Edmonton for their generous $5,000 donation towards our CT for Cardiac campaign.

Their incredible support will help us bring a new CT Coronary Angiography service to Cairns Hospital, helping provide even more accessible cardiac care for people across Far North Queensland. ❤️

Today marks one year since we said goodbye to our much-loved volunteer, Bev Lang.

For 24 years, Bev gave her time, talents and care to the Foundation. From making and selling crafts to wrapping Christmas gifts and selling raffle tickets, she quietly helped make a difference. For 16 of those years, she was also a familiar, welcoming presence at the information desk.

Bev was 92 when she passed away. Her kindness and generosity are fondly remembered by the patients, visitors, volunteers and staff whose lives she touched.

To honour her memory, Bev’s husband, Peter, recently visited the Foundation and donated $1,000, with $500 to support cancer palliative care patients and $500 towards the cardiac CT scanner project. He has pledged to continue this donation each year in Bev’s name.

This thoughtful gift carries forward the care for others that Bev showed throughout her years of volunteering. We are deeply grateful to Peter and the Lang family for choosing to honour her in this way.

Today, our Purple Angels and Foundation team remember Bev with love and gratitude. Her contribution lives on in the people she helped, the friendships she formed and the example she set.

We’re incredibly grateful to Rotary Club of Cairns Sunrise for their generous $5,000 contribution to the 2026 Australian Retirement Trust Cardiac Challenge - and for their support of the event over the past 20 years! 🙌

A very special congratulations to Rotary Sunrise member Peter Sexton, who has completed all 20 Cardiac Challenge rides. What an amazing achievement! 👏💙

Rotary Sunrise has also played a huge role behind the scenes over the years, including helping us source the wonderful es**rt drivers who keep our riders safe along the journey.

Twenty years of generosity, volunteering and community spirit is something truly special.

💙 A Huge Thank You to Our Incredible Volunteers! 💙

The success of this year's event would not have been possible without our amazing volunteer team. From our es**rt drivers, pack leaders, SES crews, camp volunteers, truck drivers, catering teams, bus drivers and drink stop volunteers, every one of you played a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience for all involved.

Whether you were behind the wheel, preparing meals, setting up camp, transporting equipment, supporting riders or keeping everyone hydrated along the way, your dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed. We are incredibly grateful for the time and effort you gave to make the event such a success.

As an extra thank you, we held a random volunteer prize draw, just as we did on Night 2, to recognise some of the many volunteers who contributed throughout the event. We were delighted to draw out 10 names:
