Graduating with Honors from RMIT in 2010, lee earned a Bachelor of Design (Fashion) and in May 2025, was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Leeâs artistic journey began with the traditional technique of âgrasshopper weaving,â passed down by her mentor, Dr. Uncle Ken Thaiday. Her woven creations tell family stories, honours her lineage, and evokes hope, while her innovative methods propel cultural expression into the future.

âThis collection was a reflection of my soul, my family, and my connection to Country. Itâs about weaving culture into couture â and opening space for new stories to be seen and heard on the world stage.â
