Today we attended the 2024-25 Encouragement Awards Presentation. Mums on the Go was proud to be able to sponsor one of these awards and present the STEM award to a very inspiring young lady Ruby. Ruby is about to embark on a big adventure to Brisbane to study science at QUT in Brisbane, this will be Ruby’s very first time seeing Brisbane and will also be her first time on an airplane. Winning this award has made a massive difference for Ruby and her family helping cover the costs of relocating and setting her up to be successful in her degree. A big thank you to the committee of Zonta for all the work you do to raise sponsorship and money to support these young women in our community get the best start to their continued education.

Since the MOTG finale event as a NFP back in April, a lot of changes have taken place for MOTG. MOTG is now no longer a registered Not for Profit and will no longer operate in the same capacity.

However……..

As part of the process of closing we had to pass on any assets to another NFP. It was important to us that the recipients aligned with MOTGs values and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Last night Emma and Abi attended the The Zonta Club of Cairns monthly meeting, Zonta is a NFP that aims to support and empower women through services and advocacy. Through an application process each year, Zonta awards young women who are leaving school to enable access to further education. With the funds from MOTG an additional award could be created to support these young girls to achieve their dreams. A massive thank you to the Zonta committee for making us feel so welcome and for honouring our desire to support women in education.

Although MOTG will not be hosting future events, there are some really amazing opportunities happening in cairns to support women in our community and we are super excited to get behind these events and share them with you.

2024 marks 10 amazing years of Mums on the Go.
To celebrate 10 years of MOTG and all the fun we have shared along the way, we would love to invite you to one last grand finale event! The celebration will be held at Succuliving, featuring delightful nibbles and a refreshing arrival drink to toast our journey together.
All proceeds from this event will be donated to a very special organisation - details to be announced soon!

✨ MOTG Finale ✨

2024 marks 10 amazing years of MOTG, it also marks some big changes that as a committee we have had to consider due to many factors.

As of June 2024 Mums on the Go Business Network Inc will close the doors to our chapter as a not for profit incorporation.

But this is not a Goodbye…..just a change of scenery as we will remain a community group with the purpose to support local woman in business through other avenues.

We would love to invite you to one last finale event to celebrate 10 years of MOTG and all the fun we have shared along the way!

The MOTG Committee would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped us achieve many great things in this space over the years.

It’s sad to be closing this chapter but exciting to discover what is next!

✨Mums on the Go Business Summit 2023✨

If you were unable to make it, here is some of the fun we had at our first MOTG Business Summit.

Last Friday we held our first ALL NEW look, bi-annual event, focusing on education and connection with 3 amazing keynote speakers and a social impact panel of women sharing their experiences working within the community in their various roles.

Lisa Monks - talking through the advancements in AI and how to utilise it safely and successfully in a small business.

James - talking on finance, and sharing his insight into finance being more than just numbers.

Rowena Preddy - sharing the fundamentals of knowing and owning your brand, breaking down the stereo types to reveal the true YOU in your branding.

, current President and MC for the event interviewed our social impact panel to delve into the WHY and what has been LEARNT from volunteering in community projects, organisations and community groups.

Our next bi-annual event will be April 2024 to celebrate 10 years of MOTG. This event is not to be missed. We are already planning big things for this very special milestone for Mums On The Go.
