I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the decision-making of our committee at Kamerunga Villas. It is disheartening to witness a lack of acknowledgment regarding the urgent assistance required by our community. While committee members enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, power, and hot water, many residents are facing severe hardships. These include resorting to cold water baths for relief from the heat, vital dependence on life support machines that require generators and continuous fuel, and the need for welfare checks and food supplies. It's crucial to understand that not everyone has the means to reach support hubs, and in-house help is imperative.�

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who came forward today to offer donations and volunteer their time. Your generosity and willingness to help are greatly appreciated. However, at this moment, we request that volunteers hold off on coming to the Villas until we have more information and a structured plan on how your assistance can be best utilised. We value your support and will provide updates as soon as possible on how you can help effectively.
�It is deeply regrettable that our plea for assistance was not recognised by the committee.

I urge the committee to reconsider their stance and acknowledge the pressing needs of our community. Immediate action is essential for the well-being of all residents.

Does anyone have a large esky and ice they could bring for extra meals for anyone who misses out. Cold drinks, butane stoves and butane, and a table are all appreciated so we can set up a mini hub

Hi everyone! Just putting word out that tomorrow morning a few of us are heading out to kamerunga villages to help out the elderly residents that were affected by the floods. They are a lot without power and have received little help. We’re meeting at the caravonica hub to round up food and supplies and heading to the villas around 7-8am. Even if you’re able to come and have a chat with some of the residents to make them feel less alone it would make a difference. Remembering we’re all a community and they need our help. Thanks!

Copied: This is a community that have been without power for 2 weeks and 60+ villas will not have power for months. Many people are in a really bad way, with elderly, sick and vulnerable people. Many people are not coping with the heat. There was an older man who was sleeping in cold water in his bath to cool down. There was another older man simply unable to get off his chair and was dehydrated. There are cancer patients and people on life saving equipment. There are homes that are wrecked and mouldy. Many do not want to move out of their beloved homes or leave their pets. Some have generators but the cost to run them is in excess of $80 a day. Right now we need volunteers please to wash (Redlynch, Freshwater, Brinsmead area - please PM me your address if you are able to help and home now) but this community needs much more help. Cooked meals, butane stoves, Pantry food, cold water, food and fuel vouchers and a warm shower are all appreciated. Thanks everyone, I will create a group to organise everyone.
