Thank you, City Life Magazine, for your support and for highlighting the success of the Ruby Ball 2024! We are incredibly grateful for the $117,000 raised for the Cairns Salvos. Together, we are making a difference!
THE RUBY BALL 2024 💃 ❤️
10 years ago the Ruby Ball concept was born thanks to local philanthropist and business leader, Shelley Wild.
Last Saturday night, another powerhouse business woman, Joan Wilson, re-ignited the flame through the Salvos Champions FNQ and brought the concept back to life raising an amazing $117,000 for the Cairns Salvos.
The aim of the night was to fundraise for much needed wrap around services to help those in need at the new Salvation Army Cairns Supported Accommodation facility. And the night did just that!! It was a huge success thanks to many locals who attended and the very generous sponsors, of which we were proud to be one of.
Together we are breaking the cycle of poverty and addressing the root cause of homelessness by supporting the Salvos.
The Salvation Army is building a modern complex of 40 residential units providing much needed social housing for males, females, and families. This is fully funded by the Qld Government and The Salvation Army. But the wrap around services had not been funded until the Ruby Ball event.
In addition to putting a roof over someone’s head, The Salvation Army can now offer a range of services and programs designed to break the cycle of poverty and address the root causes of their homelessness and help people find a new beginning.
