Cape York Leaders Program Cape York Leaders Program empowers talented Cape York leaders of all ages to reach their potential.

We teach our students how to walk in two worlds and be proud of their culture. Cape York Partnership is committed to empowering talented Indigenous leaders of the region to drive and own the Cape York Agenda, by providing them with the necessary leadership skills. The Cape York Leaders Program supports the development of current and future Cape York leaders. Since its inception in 2005, more than 600 people have grown their academic and leadership skills through the Cape York Leaders Program. Community-driven initiatives in economic development, social responsibility, education and home ownership is rebuilding the social and economic fabric of Cape York communities, which has frayed over the last four decades. Productive social norms can only be re-built with community leaders who are champions for change; through education, training, access to mentors, and practical experience. The Cape York Leaders Program aims to assist its members in building the confidence and skills they require to become positive role models within their communities.

As our Year 11 students prepare to enter their final year of school in 2027, we're proud of the hard work, dedication and commitment they've shown throughout this year.

Year 12 is an exciting milestone, and our students will soon begin preparing for this important next chapter, with our CYLP team supporting them every step of the way.

With the school year drawing to a close, there's still plenty of learning, hard work and exciting opportunities ahead.

It's wonderful to see our young leaders returning with renewed energy and determination as they prepare to tackle the challenges of their final term.

We're incredibly proud of the commitment, resilience and enthusiasm our students continue to show throughout their education journeys.

🌟 A fantastic achievement worth celebrating!

A big congratulations to our CYLP students Matteo, Latisha and Elsie from Columba Catholic College Charters Towers, who have been recognised through the school's Emerging Leaders Program for achieving 100% RAW Attendance! đź‘Ź

This is a wonderful achievement that reflects their commitment, dedication and perseverance throughout their education journeys.

Showing up to school every day, arriving ready to learn and staying committed even when challenges arise takes determination, and we're incredibly proud to see their efforts recognised.

Our students made the most of their school holidays, getting involved in Indigenous rugby league carnivals both on and off the field! 🏉

From lacing up their boots and cheering from the sidelines to volunteering as League Safe Officers, it was fantastic to see our students showing leadership, teamwork and community spirit.

These carnivals are about so much more than rugby league. They're an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends, celebrate culture, stay active and strengthen that all-important sense of belonging.

We're especially proud of the students who stepped up as League Safe Officers, taking on responsibility and helping support players and games throughout the carnivals.

A big congratulations to everyone who got involved! đź‘Ź It's wonderful to see our young leaders making the most of their holidays, looking after their wellbeing and giving back to the communities that support them.

For more than 20 years, CYLP has been carried by the students, families and staff who have given life to its purpose.

A big congratulations to Conrad Spratt from Columba Catholic College Charters Towers, who has qualified for the State Titles following a strong performance at the North Queensland Athletics Trials in Townsville.

Competing in both the 100m and 200m, Conrad recorded impressive times of 11.73 seconds in the 100m and 23.84 seconds in the 200m.

The results are a great reflection of the hard work and commitment Conrad has put into his athletics.

Congratulations, Conrad. We look forward to seeing you take on the next challenge at State Titles! đź‘Ź

Sometimes the simplest ideas can make a big difference. ⏰

Rockhampton Girls Grammar School roommates Patricia and Braniah recently decided to buy an alarm clock to help them take more responsibility for waking up independently each morning.

But it did not take long for them to find another use for it.

The girls now bring the alarm clock into their tutoring sessions and use it as a visual timer, helping them see how much time is left before their next brain break and how long remains in the session.

It is a simple strategy, but one that has helped Patricia and Braniah stay focused, manage their time and make their tutoring sessions more enjoyable.

A great example of the girls finding practical ways to build their independence and support their own learning.
