We’re proud to be partnering with The Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative on the National Lung Cancer Screening Program: It's good to know campaign, and we’re grateful to be featured in their recent post about the importance of trust in accessing healthcare.
As our Operations Manager, Elly Dang shared in the article, many multicultural women face challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, financial pressures and the complexity of the healthcare system.
Elly also highlighted how our daily group activities create a “soft point of entry” — a gentle, safe way for women to connect with us and learn about the support available.
We also want to acknowledge our past collaboration with Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia - FECCA during the COVID‑19 lockdowns, where trusted partnerships helped us deliver timely, multilingual health information to our communities.
Thank you to the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative for shining a light on the vital role of community‑based, culturally safe services. We’re proud to continue this work together for the women in our community 💛.
Before someone seeks help, books a health appointment, or attends a health promotion workshop, there is often an invisible first step: knowing who to trust.
For multicultural communities, that trust can be the difference between receiving care and missing out altogether.
In this week’s blog, Isobella Halcrow reflects on conversations with organisations supporting women, people affected by cancer, migrants, and multicultural communities across Western Sydney. While each organisation serves a different community and tackles different challenges, one message kept coming through: trust matters.
