💛 A Heartfelt Testimonial From Justice Support Centre 💛
We’re proud to share this wonderful feedback from Liz Simpson, Principal Director at Justice Support Centre, recognising our strong Health Justice Partnership and the impact it’s having for women and their families in the Fairfield community:
“FWHS has been an exceptional partner throughout the work and we have found their entire team, headed by Operations Manager Elly Dang, to be proactive in their communication, deeply engaged with the local community, and committed to ensuring women receive holistic, coordinated and client‑centred support. Their team consistently demonstrates compassion, professionalism and a strong understanding of early intervention and wraparound services. Through their trusted community relationships, FWHS has helped connect women with legal assistance who may not otherwise have sought support.”
We’re grateful for this meaningful collaboration and for the trust our community places in us every day. Together, we’re creating safer, more supported pathways for women and their families. 💛

🌬️ Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Awareness 🌬️
Every winter, people become unwell due to carbon monoxide poisoning, a silent but preventable danger.
Fairfield Women’s Health Service, in partnership with SWSLHD – Multicultural Services, recently delivered an important community session to help families stay safe during the colder months.
We were thrilled to see such a large and engaged turnout. A big thank‑you to our wonderful partners and to our community for the strong support and participation. Together, we’re building a safer, healthier winter for everyone. 💛

Our Qigong and Zumba groups continue to bring women together to move, breathe, laugh, and reconnect with themselves.
These sessions aren’t just about exercise, they’re about creating a safe, supportive space where women can nurture their physical health, strengthen their mental wellbeing, and build community with one another.
We’re so proud of the commitment, courage, and energy these women bring in every session. 💛
Here’s to movement, healing, and empowerment.

In Australia, bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers. It often develops without symptoms in its early stages.

💙 Screening can detect bowel cancer early, when treatment is most effective, and may even prevent it by finding and removing precancerous polyps.

🩺 Speak with your doctor about the screening option that is right for you.

✔️If you are aged 45–74 years, complete your free bowel screening test through Australia’s National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.

We’re proud to be partnering with The Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative on the National Lung Cancer Screening Program: It's good to know campaign, and we’re grateful to be featured in their recent post about the importance of trust in accessing healthcare.
As our Operations Manager, Elly Dang shared in the article, many multicultural women face challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, financial pressures and the complexity of the healthcare system.
Elly also highlighted how our daily group activities create a “soft point of entry” — a gentle, safe way for women to connect with us and learn about the support available.
We also want to acknowledge our past collaboration with Federation of Ethnic Communities' Councils of Australia - FECCA during the COVID‑19 lockdowns, where trusted partnerships helped us deliver timely, multilingual health information to our communities.
Thank you to the Australian Multicultural Health Collaborative for shining a light on the vital role of community‑based, culturally safe services. We’re proud to continue this work together for the women in our community 💛.

Before someone seeks help, books a health appointment, or attends a health promotion workshop, there is often an invisible first step: knowing who to trust.

For multicultural communities, that trust can be the difference between receiving care and missing out altogether.

In this week’s blog, Isobella Halcrow reflects on conversations with organisations supporting women, people affected by cancer, migrants, and multicultural communities across Western Sydney. While each organisation serves a different community and tackles different challenges, one message kept coming through: trust matters.
