Friends Of Lagoon Creek

Friends Of Lagoon Creek FOLC are a volunteer run community based landcare group and registered charity

FOLC is a volunteer based community not for profit organisation which
has a strong focus on creating opportunities for local community members to be involved in environmental stewardship! It is through activities that enhance the biodiversity and ecological health of Lagoon creek environmental reserve that we gain an appreciation for the magic and importance of our natural areas.

*Our president i

s hired by reclink australia to train conservation trainees. We are trying to promote their activities to engage broader community involvement. We strive to create a sustainable future by promoting the restoration of ecosystems, advocating for responsible land management practices, and raising awareness about the importance of protecting our natural resources. Through our dedicated team Friends of Lagoon Creek Group undertakes a wide range of conservation initiatives. These efforts include:
Habitat Restoration: We organize regular clean-up events and tree planting activities to restore the natural habitats along the creek. By removing invasive species and reintroducing native plants, we aim to improve the biodiversity and provide a healthier ecosystem for the local flora and fauna. Community Engagement: Friends of Lagoon Creek Group believes in the power of community involvement. We organize educational workshops, and try to involve and engage and educate residents, schools, and businesses about the importance of environmental conservation. We also collaborate with other local organizations, government bodies, and experts to maximize our impact and build a network. Friends of Lagoon Creek recognizes the power of collaboration and networking to achieve their conservation goals. The group actively engages with other like-minded organizations, such as environmental nonprofits, community groups, and government agencies, to foster partnerships and expand their influence. By joining forces with these organizations, Friends of Lagoon Creek can access additional resources

Our mission is to be actively engaging the local community in conservation efforts and actively seek community involvement so we can preserve our unique ecosystems and landscapes that make australia iconic but also contribute to better environmental practices for a brighter future for all generations to come.

Hi Folcs!

We invite you to join us on the on the 22nd of May for a night of theatrical wonder and joy! In partnership with MBCC's Anywhere Festival, we will be hosting a showing of 'Shakespeare - Dying on stage', performed by Bardot Rules:

"What happens when you attempt to stage every death in Shakespeare in under an hour? Absolute chaos.

This fast, furious comedy charges through the Bard’s body count, packing stabbings, poisonings and dramatic last breaths into one wildly theatrical sprint. Expect ridiculous metaphors, obscure references, musical numbers, frantic costume changes and more mayhem than strictly necessary.

It’s irreverent, over-the-top and not-at-all-subtle. Shakespeare may well be rolling in his grave, but you’ll be laughing too hard to notice.

A whirlwind tribute to tragedy, gleefully turned on its head."

Good company, good comedy, and a good night awaits!

Please follow the links below to secure your ticket for the night as well as order any cheese platters that may be desired, with a bar providing wine on the night. Doors from 6 PM.
