* phone lines open at 8:30 am and appointments to be made on the day. This service is predominantly run by volunteers from the community who give their time to assist those in need. To be eligible for Emergency Relief assistance with Caboolture Community Care those in need of assistance:

Be a resident of Moreton Bay Region North, excluding the Redcliffe Pennisula. Must not of received assistance within 3 months of last visit
Require a Centrelink Income statement (if on Centrelink)

Assistance provided:
Chemist Vouchers
Fares/Fuel Vouchers (Very Limited)
Food Vouchers
Food Parcels
Rent and Utility (Depending on funding)

* Assistance amounts and types vary on individual circumstances

All members are invited to attend the meeting with light refreshments to follow.

🚨New free camping site at Petrie park to be open for people experiencing homelessness🚨

MONTHS after a Supreme Court ruling found Moreton Bay Council had violated the rights of eight homeless people after evicting them from a Lawnton park, it has announced the opening of a new free camping site in Petrie.

The camping site at Wyllie Park in Petrie will provide a designated tent area with access to toilets, refuse facilities, CCTV monitoring and regular security patrols.

“We have listened to our residents, and those groups who work in this area, and felt the need to provide a free option for those homeless who can no longer stay in our public parks and spaces,” Mayor Peter Flannery said.

The announcement by comes after a March 2026 court ruling that Council had violated the human rights of eight people experiencing homelessness when they were moved on from the Lawnton park and their property destroyed last year.

• Provide person-centred counselling and emotional support
• Deliver evidence-based interventions

• Empower clients to build resilience and achieve positive outcomes
Caboolture Community Care Inc is a not-for-profit organisation providing emergency relief and counselling to the residents of Moreton Bay North. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, professional, and committed to ethical practice. Initial contract will be for three (3) months with the possibility of extension.
