Despite cold weather, the ROSE still blooms 🌹

Over the past few weeks in the ROSE program, the women have not only established more trust in our ROSE facilitator, but have found solidarity in each other. There is something very powerful about that 💪

A space where women can speak honestly, be heard without judgement, and sit alongside others who understand in ways that don’t always need explaining.

These women have been left in the cold for too long, not only by their perpetrators but also in some cases by a broken system.
However, these women are strong, compassionate and they will bloom again 🌹🙌

This ROSE program not about fixing everything.
✅ It’s about having somewhere to come while you’re navigating everything else.
✅ It's about helping to improve your physical and mental health in a safe, compassionate and confidential space.
✅ It's about no longer being isolated or feeling alone
✅ It's about hope

If you’ve been wondering whether this space might be for you, then please know you are welcome here. Your words are heard, believed and you are valued 🌹

Coercive control can be subtle and hard to spot, but these behaviours can cause serious and lasting harm. Coercive control is family and domestic violence.

Here are some common examples:

“No one will ever love you like I can.”
“You’d be nothing without me.”
“You’re too sensitive, you’re overreacting.”
“I’m the only one who really understands you.”
“Your friends don’t actually care about you.”
“If you leave, you’ll regret it.”
“You’re lucky I put up with you.”
“Don’t tell anyone about this — they wouldn’t get it.”
“I only act like this because I love you.”
“You’re the reason I get angry.”

They’re meant to:

** make you doubt yourself
** isolate you from others
** lower your self-worth
** make leaving feel impossible

If you are experiencing coercive control or if you have experienced it, the ROSE program is here for you.

You don't need to talk to us about what you have experienced but participating in exercise could help you to cope with the negative emotions that result from it's impact.
There is NO judgement here. This program is run in a CONFIDENTIAL and SAFE environment. All fitness levels are welcome.

If you are interested in joining, click the confidential link to forward your details and our ROSE facilitator will be in contact with you at a time that is right for you:

On Anzac Day, we come together in remembrance, reflecting on the sacrifices made by Australians and New Zealanders.
It has been 111 years since ANZAC soldiers first landed at Gallipoli.
We acknowledge and honour all who have served our nation — in wars, conflicts, peacekeeping, and other operations.

Lest we forget 🌺

If you’re navigating family and domestic violence, it’s completely fair to ask "how is an exercise class supposed to help me right now?"

If you are experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV), or you are a victim-survivor navigating your healing journey, you may find yourself being pulled in all directions as you care for your children, preparing for court or look for employment. You may feel isolated, lonely and afraid. So an exercise class doesn't look like something that is potentially going to be of assistance.

You may be thinking:
“I am waiting for counselling. I need legal support. I need financial stability or financial counselling. I am trying to get a job. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror. Exercise is not going to make my situation better”

Sadly, recent reports suggest that Western Australia’s rate of FDV is increasing to an alarming level, which means wait times for support services may be longer. It is here that women get lost in the system and on many occasions return to the person using violence.

This is where we can help

The ROSE program is a specialised, trauma-informed exercise program. This means we have a an awareness of how trauma may have affected every woman who walks through our doors, and we are therefore, much more sensitive to her needs.

While you’re waiting, and while you’re carrying so much, exercise can offer a way to cope. It can support your mental health, help ease anxiety, clear your mind, and give you a moment to breathe.

It can also offer connection. A safe, confidential and supportive space where you are not alone and there is no judgement about where you are or what you have been through.

When you attend the ROSE program, it is not about how you look or what you can do. Allowing the body to take part in some kind of movement, will release endorphins and discharge anxious energy and tension. It is simply a place to come as you are, while you navigate everything else. Through our classes, you can begin to reconnect with your body, improve mood, rebuild resilience and regain your identity. You will also leave knowing that there is always hope.

If this is you, please contact us today by following the confidential link below:

You are not alone, and we will support you to Reclaim, Overcome, Strengthen and Empower your life. 🌹

Happy Easter 💛🐥🐇🌿

On Easter Sunday, Christians remember the resurrection of Christ and the overcoming of death through love. It is, at its heart, a message of hope.

We respect that not everyone observes this time in the same way, but for many, it is a moment to reflect on renewal — and most importantly, hope.

🌹 Hope that things can change.
🌹 Hope that healing is possible.
🌹 Hope that a new chapter can begin.

A woman from the ROSE program, who joined us when we opened our very first class, has kindly shared her experience of the program so far. Her words are a reminder that taking the first step is often the hardest but also the most powerful.

If you are waiting for counselling, if you are living in fear of attending court, experiencing anxiety and/or depression, or if you are feeling isolated and alone - this group is for you.

We share this in the hope that it gives you the courage to take that first step, and the reminder that you are not alone and there is always hope. 🌹

Hope is at the centre of everything within the ROSE program.
Through movement, connection and support, our facilitator walks alongside women as they rebuild strength, confidence and belief in themselves 🌹💪

The ROSE program began in January and here we are now in Week 11 🌹💪

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been really listening to the words being shared between the women in our sessions.

Words like… empowerment, courage, healing, confidence, laughter, connection.

I can see these words being felt by the participants as they speak them. I can see smiles and laughter.
I can hear the strength in the resolutions they are making.

There’s something really special happening in this group. The women showing up for themselves and for each other. They are supporting, encouraging and lifting one another up and saying "no more" to what is unacceptable.

It’s is a privilege to be part of and I am touched.

These women are strong. Not just physically but emotionally and mentally. I am now just assisting them to enhance what they already have.

You may not think that this group is for you, you may think you have to be fit.
This group is for any woman who needs a confidential space and compassion.

There is always a place for you here too 🌹💪

On Friday 6th March I had the honour of attending an International Women’s Day event with the incredible team at 54 Reasons.

I was invited to share a little about my lived experience with anxiety, depression and PTSD, and how exercise quite literally saved my life and led me to opportunities and purpose I never could have imagined. It was also an opportunity to continue advocating for exercise as medicine, and for how using exercise can boost the resilience and courage that so many women show as they rebuild their lives. Exercise alongside a community also provides a sense of hope, that is so important for all of us.

This year’s theme was “Give to Gain”, and it really resonated with me. When we give the gift of exercise to women, we are not just supporting physical health — we are helping them gain mental strength, connection and hope. It truly is a gift that keeps on giving.

The room was full of inspiring women, powerful conversations, and so much support for one another. As part of my presentation, we all danced to Beyoncé’s “Who Run the World” — which felt very fitting and empowering. The smiles around the room were infectious! 💃

I’m also grateful to have formed a wonderful new partnership. The women at 54 Reasons work tirelessly in the community supporting women experiencing adversity, particularly those from CALD communities and those impacted by family and domestic violence.

It was a reminder of the strength that exists when women come together to lift each other up.

Thank you for having me and for the work you do every day💜

As Women… we ROSE 🌹💪

Throughout history, on paths once uncertain and moments unknown,
women have bravely pushed forward and quietly grown.
Not through perfection, but through courage they chose
to place one foot in front of the other — and through these actions they ROSE.

Women RECLAIM their power, their future, their voice,
and OVERCOME the doubts that once limited life’s choice.
United as a community, hearts and minds strengthened and strong,
EMPOWERING each woman and reminding the world that all women belong.

And through every story, a truth we can see —
that when one woman stands, she sets another free.
With kindness and courage their light only grows,
and we are reminded that as women… we ROSE.

🌹💪🌹💪🌹

Through our ROSE program, exercise becomes more than movement. It becomes a way for women to rebuild confidence, reconnect with their bodies, and gently step forward after experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV).

This year’s International Women's Day message of “Give to Gain” reminds us that when we give our support, time, and belief to another woman, we don’t lose anything — we gain stronger communities, braver voices, and more women stepping into their power. When one woman rises, she helps another rise too. 🌹

We are here for you - no matter where you are at in your journey or your exercise ability. We will meet you there and walk with you.

Join us at the ROSE Program today, by following the link and completing the simple and confidential self-referral form. Sarah will then be in touch with you:
