Young Cruisers' Association

Young Cruisers' Association Whether you are actively seafaring, wayfaring, or daydreaming of such things, there is a place (and a barstool) for you in the YCA.

With the young coming together as the YCA, we dare each other to take the path less traveled, and upset the norm.

“M I N I M A L I S M is not the lack of something. It’s simply the perfect amount of something.” — Nicholas Burroughs.

All can relate to this minimalistic lifestyle on the water, but not many live it as boldly as Kiana, Alize, and Laerke . If you haven’t yet had the chance to see their documentary, here’s your reminder to fix that 🍿

🇺🇸☀️ 👩‍🦰 🔥 ⛵️
“I’m Maddie! I’m a sailing instructor, J/24 racer, and ex-vanlifer currently living in Madison, WI, where I’m working hard and saving up for my first sailboat.

I fell in love with sailing after joining my local club just four years ago, and I’ve spent almost every day of the (far too short) sailing season on the water ever since. My current goal is to buy myself a cruiser as a big 30th birthday gift to myself, complete a refit, and eventually escape these snowy, Midwestern shores to sail warmer waters 🌊⛵️”

Welcome to the tribe, Maddie! It all starts with the dream. Stoked to follow your adventures that lead you into the cruising life! See you in an anchorage soon 🍻

“We’ve sailed over 20,800 nautical miles together in 5 years. From the Mediterranean to the farthest corners of the Caribbean, our Tatajuba has taken us on many unique adventures, helped us weather some nerve-wracking moments, allowed us to discover breathtaking worlds and rediscover ourselves, and—above all—helped us grow. Our daughter was 3 months old then and is now 5 years old. A true boat kid. We love the sailing community, the best friendships, and the most helpful people.”

Welcome to the tribe, guys! Excited to keep following journey out there and hopefully connect in an anchorage real soon 🤟🏼. Try to connect with and while there in Bermuda 🏴🏴🏴

Boat K I D S grow up different.
🏴
They learn that the world is bigger than borders, that strangers become family fast, and that every anchorage has something to teach.

These aren’t just kids on boats. They’re world citizens in the making. Salt in their hair, sun on their backs, and a front row seat to what really matters.

This is how you raise humans.
Wild. Grateful. Capable. Connected.

“Hey sailors! I’m Gaston, 40 years old, born and raised in Argentina. I’ve lived all my life in my city Rosario, working as Electronic Engineer 45 hours per week, only sailing as hobby in the Parana river in my free time. But I decided to change my life! On March 2023 I quitted my job and started sailing from Argentina, on my Peterson 34 1988 called Puxador, with my best crew ever, Ancla 🐕 It’s been 3 years sailing and fully living onboard. Sailing from Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, French Guiana and West Indies, currently in Saint Martin and planning next destinations!”

Welcome to the tribe, buddy! Stoked to link up with you and Ancla somewhere warm, sometime soon. Keep chasing the horizon and we’ll see you out there soon 🤙🏼🏴

E A R T H Day isn’t just about the land beneath our feet.
For us, it’s more about the water beneath our keel.
🌎 🌍 🌏 🌊
The coral that still has a chance.
The reefs that shouldn’t be buried in plastic.
The fish that deserve a future.
The kids who deserve to know this planet the way we’ve been lucky enough to know it.
Let’s keep leaving it better than we found it.

This is our home.
Happy Earth Day from the YCA.

This isn’t S P O R T.
This is respect.
🎣 🏴
We respect the ocean that gave it, the fight it brought, and the meal it becomes. No trophies. No ego. Just gratitude, adrenaline, and a reminder that nothing real out here is ever taken for granted.

M E E T Haley and Josh () aboard the SV Slacker 🤘🏼🏴!
🇺🇸 👉🏼 ⭕️ 👉🏼🇧🇸👉🏼🗺️
“We are Josh and Haley, currently living aboard our 1987 Nauticat 33. Over the past year, we traveled through the states in a 21’ camper, so 33’ feels like pure luxury! Our original goal was to visit all 50 states, and while we didn’t complete it in the camper, we plan to finish the journey by taking on America’s Great Loop in our boat. After that, we hope to keep cruising south into the islands.”

These two legends have completed Americas Great Loop and have made their way to the Bahamas where they’ve been living the dream every damn day this winter. If you come across Slacker, don’t hesitate to hop in the d**k and swing over. They know how to have a good time and they’ve got stories to share over a cockpit cocktail or 5. Welcome to the tribe, guys! Keeping doing what you do 🤙🏼
