The sun was shining on Thursday when we had a great turnout from the ladies of the Busselton VIEW club at our June Soup n Bun social “fun raiser”. Many thanks to Carolinn for welcoming us into her beautiful home and to the ladies who made the soups and provided such a wonderful feast. Lots of smiles, chatter and laughter amongst the satisfied slurps and over $130 raised for the Smith Family, so not a bad outcome all round! If you would like more information about what our club gets up to, please message us or email [email protected].

On Friday 22nd May 7 of our intrepid ladies from the Busselton VIEW Club travelled down to to help the ladies of Capes VIEW celebrate the 9th Birthday of their club. We were warmly welcomed and then thoroughly entertained by Paul Bresland, Commander of .marinerescue, who talked of volunteering on the bay and keeping our mariners safe. What a great job these volunteer mariners do! After a wonderful meal it was raffle time and 4 of our ladies came home happy winners. Congratulations to Capes VIEW Club on your milestone and thankyou for making us feel so welcome.

Once again there was a great turnout for the May General Meeting of the Busselton VIEW Club where we celebrated the spirit of Mother’s Day. Everyone, including a local duck who waddled in, was highly entertained by our guest speaker Bernie Masters telling of his and Carolina’s adventures in Antarctica supported by some stunning photos. Who doesn’t love a penguin! In the meeting that followed we were thrilled to hear Brina tell us about our newest sponsor child Indi, who is 9 years old and from our home state of WA. Once again, our Bring n Buy and Raffles proved popular, raising over $400. After the meeting some of our ladies stayed on for lunch and chatted about exciting WA developments with visiting Melville VIEW Club member, Alison Rogers, from the VIEW Development Team. Our next meeting will be held at Tonic By The Bay The Bay on Thursday 18th June. For more information, please message us or email [email protected].

Today marks the start of National Volunteer Week and the Busselton VIEW Club would like to thank all the people who so generously volunteer their time in the support of our community and in particular our fabulous ladies who give their enthusiasm and time in support of our club. Volunteers play such a vital role in building connected, inclusive, and resilient communities and the act of volunteering can create connection, purpose and belonging. Maybe 2026 could be YOUR year to volunteer!

Busselton VIEW Club is urging our local community to give generously to The Smith Family’s Winter Appeal, to support thousands of children and young people experiencing disadvantage with their education. The Winter Appeal aims to raise almost $8 million by the end of June 2026 to support students experiencing disadvantage by providing access to proven out-of-school educational programs.

Great turnout today for the Busselton VIEW Club”s very own private “Open Studio” with talented local artist and VIEW member, Faye Mildenhall. Over 20 ladies attended and over $200 was raised for The Smith Family, so as well as being a fun social catchup it was a very successful “funraiser”. Thanks to all the ladies who helped with the food and special thanks to Faye who welcomed us into her beautiful home and donated a percentage of all painting sales to the club. Who knew that we had so many art lovers amongst us! If you would like more information about what our club gets up to, please message us or email [email protected].

Over 40 ladies attended the Busselton VIEW Club April General Meeting and you could hear a pin drop as our guest speaker Stephanie Vaughan told her moving story of the challenges of living most of her life as a woman in a man's body, her late diagnosis as intersex and her subsequent transition that made her the woman she is today! It is so incredibly powerful when people choose to share their stories of adversity faced! In the meeting that followed a motion was passed to start supporting our 4th Learning for Life student and once again the Raffles and Bring n Buy table proved popular. After the meeting 20 ladies stayed on at Tonic By The Bay to share lunch and chatter about the month that has been. Our next meeting, to be held at Tonic By The Bay on Thursday 21st May, will celebrate Mother’s Day and attendees are invited to bring along their "important woman", whether they be mother, sister or friend. For more information, please message us or email [email protected].

On Wednesday 18 of our Busselton VIEW ladies met for a sundowner at The Pavilion in downtown Busselton where we all relaxed over a beverage and some nibbles. Conversation ranged from fuel prices, hypotheticals and musings on the myriad decisions and actions that had to happen to culminate with us all sitting together on this particular day in this particular place. If life really is a box of chocolates maybe we still have some good ones left! If you are curious about VIEW and what this fine group of ladies do when they are not socializing, guests are welcome at our next meeting, 10am at Tonic By The Bay on Thursday 16th April, where our speaker will be a well-known local author. For more information, please email [email protected] or message us.
