Last night our crews responded to assist police with reports of a person lost in bushland between Rowena and Collarenebri.

Our teams — including our Search & Rescue drone pilots — deployed quickly, working alongside members from the Collarenebri unit who were in the final stages of their Road Crash Rescue training this weekend.

With coordinated efforts, the missing male and his dogs were located promptly and safely returned back to his vehicle.

A strong reminder of what can be achieved when emergency service volunteers work together with skill, commitment, and calm professionalism.

A great outcome and a solid example of teamwork between or skilled multi agency VRA Rescue Teams.

Yesterday afternoon our crews responded to a grain train derailment just outside Burren Junction.

Teams worked quickly to secure the site, assess hazards, and support rail authorities in managing the situation.
Rail authorities are now working through the recovery process. Importantly, there have been no serious injuries reported.

A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers for their professionalism and teamwork. Their swift response highlights the strength of our local emergency services and the resilience of our community.

❗ WEE WAA TO BURREN JUNCTION: The Kamilaroi Hwy is closed in both directions due to fallen wires at Drildool.

You can divert via Pilliga using Warrior Street, Vera Leap Road, Pilliga Road, Dangar Street, Come By Chance Road and Bugilbone Road.
