🤚 BUNYIP CONNECT NEEDS A HAND! 🤚

Bunyip Connect Inc. is a small volunteer community group, and everything we do relies on people giving a little of their time.

We’ve asked for extra hands before, and right now we have a very specific role we would love some help with:

💻 ARE YOU HANDY WITH FACEBOOK, CANVA OR SOCIAL MEDIA? 💻

We’re looking for someone who might be able to help us with some of the promotion leading up to the Bunyip Christmas Carnival.

This could be a great volunteer role for someone who is busy during the day but has a little time here and there to help create and schedule Facebook posts, remind the community that the carnival is coming up, and help us highlight the wonderful sporting clubs, community groups, services and local businesses that are contributing to the event.

You certainly don’t need to be a marketing expert! If you’re comfortable on a computer, can put together a simple Facebook post or Canva poster, and would like to help your local community, we’d love to hear from you.

🟢BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! 🟢

We’re also always looking for people who would like to help with future events, projects and ideas. That might mean helping organise an event, coming up with new ideas, assisting on the day, contacting organisations, creating promotional material… or simply lending an extra pair of hands when needed.

Bunyip Connect is working hard to bring free events, projects and opportunities to our community, but we genuinely need more people involved to keep going.

Even helping with one job, one event or a few hours here and there can make a huge difference to a small group like ours.

🎄 BUNYIP CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL 2026 🎄

The Bunyip Christmas Carnival is back for its fourth year, and we’d love to have you join us!

📅 Sunday, November 29th, 2026
⏰ 9am–1pm
📍 Bunyip Recreation Reserve

The carnival is a free, family-friendly community event held alongside the Bunyip Community Market.

There’ll be plenty happening on the day, including:

✨ Free kids activities
🎅 Santa
🎨 Face painting
🎶 Live entertainment
🌭 Sausage sizzle
🎁 Carnival fun
🏘️ Local community groups, sporting clubs and support services
🛍️ Bunyip Community Market from 8am–1pm

Thank you to all that attended our Community Safety Meeting on Monday night.

If you missed it, there is another opportunity to get involved.

The Tynong Progress Association Inc. is holding its October meeting on Wednesday 14th October at 7:30pm, with representatives from Victoria Police and Cardinia Shire Council attending.

One of the topics being discussed will be the potential to establish an Eastern Cardinia Neighbourhood Watch, covering Bunyip, Garfield, Tynong and surrounding towns.

Neighbourhood Watch needs to be driven by the community, so if this is something you would like to see established in our area, this is a great opportunity to come along, ask questions, meet others who are interested and help get the conversation moving.

Thank you to Bunyip Connect Inc. and the community of Bunyip for having us last night. It was great to sit down and hear some of your concerns.

We'll be doing some work around those major intersections, and along Hope Street as discussed.

The Bunyip Community Safety Meeting is on tomorrow, Monday October 5th at 7pm at Bunyip Hall.

This is a chance to meet with local police, ask questions, raise any concerns you have about safety in our area, and hear directly from police about issues affecting Bunyip and our surrounding communities.

We’ll also be discussing interest in establishing an Eastern Cardinia Neighbourhood Watch.

There is no need to register — just come along on the night.

Just a reminder that our Community Safety Meeting is coming up this Monday, October 5th at 7pm at the Bunyip Hall.

This is your opportunity to meet with local police, ask questions, raise any concerns you may have about safety in our area, and hear directly from police about issues affecting our community.

We’ll also be discussing whether there is enough interest to establish an Eastern Cardinia Neighbourhood Watch, with residents from Bunyip and surrounding towns encouraged to come along and find out more.

You don’t need to register and you don’t need to be interested in joining Neighbourhood Watch to attend — the Community Safety Q&A is open to everyone.

A huge thank you to the Bunyip Community Op Shop for their generous grant, which helped subsidise the cost of our First Aid and CPR course this week.

Their support helped make the course more affordable for local participants and gave more members of our community the opportunity to learn important, potentially life-saving skills.

The course was delivered by Barb at Lifesaving First Aid, and we’d also like to acknowledge them for providing such an informative, practical and engaging session.

We’re very fortunate to have organisations like the Bunyip Op Shop supporting opportunities that benefit our local community.

🟢UPCOMING COMMUNITY SAFETY MEETING🟢

Bunyip Connect Inc. is hosting a **Community Safety Meeting** at the Bunyip Hall on **Monday, October 5th at 7pm**, and we would love to see members of Bunyip and surrounding towns come along.

This is a great opportunity to meet with local police, raise any questions or concerns you have about safety in the Bunyip area, and hear directly from police about issues affecting our community.

The evening will also include a discussion about the possibility of establishing an **Eastern Cardinia Neighbourhood Watch**, with expressions of interest welcomed from residents of Bunyip and surrounding towns.

The meeting will be very much guided by the questions and concerns raised by the community, so if there is something you would like discussed, this is a great opportunity to come along and have your voice heard.

If you are planning to attend, we would love you to respond to our event page so we can get an idea of numbers, but there is absolutely no need to register — you are very welcome to simply turn up on the night.
