distributing food and supplies to people experiencing homelessness through a network of volunteers, including in particular young people;
improving access to b

asic human needs for people experiencing homelessness, including sanitation and clothing;
Creating opportunities for people experiencing homelessness to interact on a meaningful and mutually beneficial level with the community, particularly young people;
promoting and raising awareness and understanding of homelessness, particularly among young Australians.

KNITTERS NEEDED: BEANIES AND GLOVES ARE URGENTLY NEEDED THIS WINTER

This Sunday’s outreach was the second weekend of our Winter Warm Packs.

With the cold weather really setting in, we were able to hand out warm clothing and winter essentials to help our street friends get through another freezing week.

Everyone was incredibly thankful, but a number of people also asked if we could help source more beanies and gloves, as the wind has been especially cold.

In past winters, some of the most appreciated items we have received have been handmade knitted beanies, gloves and fingerless gloves.

So we are putting the call out to our wonderful knitters:

If you can knit beanies or gloves, we would be very grateful. These items will go directly to people sleeping rough and doing it tough this winter.

If knitting is not your thing, you are also very welcome to donate new beanies, gloves or funds to help us purchase what is needed.

Small items. Big difference.

Thank you for helping us keep our street friends warm this winter.

Street Survival Pack
$ 10.00
Everybody deserves the essentials like socks, un**es, shaving equipment, tampons, soap and face towels. Restoring and helping maintain their dignity is the least we can do.

Outreach with Hayden today.
Good to be back out connecting with the community and getting essentials into the right hands. Every week matters — the need doesn’t slow down.
If you’re doing a clean-out, we’re currently after warm items heading into winter:
• Jackets
• Blankets
• Jumpers
• Sleeping bags
Appreciate everyone who continues to support what we do.

On Sunday, we were treated to something special.

Students from kindly baked ANZAC biscuits for ANZAC weekend, and they went down an absolute treat. It’s always great to see young people getting behind the community in such a meaningful way.

As we head into the colder months, we’re starting to prepare for winter. If you’re able to help, DM us, we’re currently seeking donations of:

jackets
jumpers
blankets
other warm clothing

Your support makes a real difference for those doing it tough during winter.

Thank you again to the CLC students for your continued support

These biscuits with Easter eggs hidden inside went down an absolute treat 🍪 The smiles said it all.

A big thank you again to the students from for putting these together, along with the lovely food packs. These will be handed out during emergency callouts, as we often get requests from local families needing immediate support.

Always appreciated and clearly enjoyed by our street friends.

A big thank you to the amazing students at Catholic Ladies’ College Eltham for their delicious chocolate almond biscuits through their Bake, Care, Share program.

One of our street friends asked us to pass on this message — “If I had the money, I’d buy these in a shop. They taste professionally made.”
Safe to say they were a hit.

We also had a special visitor today — our little street friend lorikeet, now 7 weeks old, who loves coming by to say hello.

Grateful for the ongoing support and small moments that make a big difference.

On Thursday Hayden was invited to speak at the Nighthawk Ranger Guides Leaders Meeting, sharing the story of Hayden’s Helping Hands and how we can work together to support people experiencing homelessness even more.

The Rangers have been wonderful supporters, baking Christmas puddings for our hampers for the past three years, and it was great to connect again.

At Sunday’s outreach we were also treated to some beautiful “Bake Care Share” chocolate wrinkle cookies from CLC Eltham, which went perfectly with the tea station and were a big hit.

Thank you to the Nighthawk Ranger Guides and CLC Eltham for your ongoing kindness and support.

Hayden’s Helping Hands has been recognised with a 2025 Tobin Brothers Foundation grant.
A huge thank you to Tobin Brothers — this funding will go straight into our Winter Season Support, helping our street friends sleeping rough with extra essentials through the colder months.

Today’s outreach went really well and felt like the closing chapter of summer… and in true House Stark fashion: Winter is coming.
Thanks to Tobin Brothers, we’ll be ready. 👑
