Thank you to all of our volunteers for all of the dedication you provide to the community with your free services πŸ₯°

At the heart of Queensland, volunteers power the communities we call home. Our Justices of the Peace (JPs) and Commissioners for Declarations (Cdecs) are no exception.

With National Volunteer Week starting next week from 19 May to 26 May, we’re highlighting the dedicated Queenslanders who donate their time to help others access essential legal services.

From certifying passport applications to witnessing wills and affidavits, our JPs and Cdecs are vital to ensuring these services are accessible to everyone, no matter where they live.

Through our JPs in the Community Program, they serve in over 230 locations across Queensland, including shopping centres, libraries, community centres, courts, universities, and hospitals.

In 2024, more than 75,000 JPs and Cdecs volunteered a massive 135,000 hours, certifying over 2 million documents!

This , we say thank you to every JP and Cdec making a difference in Queensland communities every day. πŸ’™

Last Saturday we held our first Refresher Course for our local JPs and CDecs, Paula Bould from Department of Justice was in attendance and presented some of our volunteers with some long service certificates - 50 years, 40 years and 25 years! Well done and congratulations! We had a fantastic number of people in attendance and we all look forward to the next one, possibly later in the year. Thank you to all that made this inaugural event a success!
