We would like to introduce Lily McGough. She’s headed to the 2026 NBHA world championships. I asked Lily a few questions yesterday.

What district are you with? Nbha qld D07
How many horses do you have? I have 4 horses
What are the names of the horses that helped you qualify for worlds? Belle, ghost, Earl, boi
What divisions did u qualify in? 1D and 5D
How many horses are you riding at worlds? at this moment I think 1
Who was your biggest inspiration to start barrel racing? my bestfriend Reeba
How did you get into barrel racing? I got into barrel racing by one of my friends Reeba she showed me heaps of videos and taught me heaps.
Have you got any fun things planned while you are in USA? aiming to view the natural wonders of America and can’t wait to try the southern fried chicken
Any fun facts about you? I tried everything from ballet to gymnastics to choosing something the complete opposite which is barrel racing.

This AGM is an important one as we’ll be opening the floor for a new committee and inviting all meeting agenda items you can think of. If you’ve ever wanted to have a say, get involved, or help shape the future of NBHA D07 — this is your moment.

Our district is at a crossroads — without a new NBHA D07 Committee, the district will unfortunately go dormant for the 2026 season.

The amazing ladies who previously stepped up to lead are no longer able to continue, so we’re reaching out to the community for new volunteers to keep D07 active and thriving.

If you’re passionate about barrel racing, love our NBHA family, and want to help keep local events going, now is the time to get involved! Positions are open for all committee roles, and support will be available to help new members get started.
