Lovely opening event celebrating everything natural in our "Nature's Canvas" exhibition on Friday night. Thankyou to our lovely Councillor Tracey McPhee for officiating the evening which featured an incredible selection of works from our artisticly talented members.
A great celebration of our new hanging system installed by the Watsons. A big thankyou again to them also, Allan, Matt and Josh.
Mick Brennan, Andrea Deeley, Heather Johnstone and Bernie Wood for hanging help, Anne Carlsen and Phillip running the kitchen, Marise for the shopping, Jos and Amelia on the bar and Bernie and Andrea on raffles and sales.
Thanks also to Heather Pepperill for drawing our raffle and to all members who brought a delicious plate to share.
10% of works sold on the night too.
Great team work.

News of acceptance to hold a large Showcase Exhibition by our growing membership has been graciously received. 🎉

The exhibition to be held in the larger gallery within the refurbished School of Arts Building sometime in 2027 in the main city precinct of Bourbong Street.
Having access to a much larger gallery space will allow more members to exhibit and be featured in this showcase.

Biggest shout out to these absolute legends who worked 6 long hours today to install the new hanging system in our Charles Hazzard Gallery.
Big team effort from Vice President Allan Watson, his son Mathew, Grandson Josh and President Andrea Deeley to pack down the room, remove the old tracks and install all the new fittings with precision and care.

Thankyou also to the Queensland Community Benefit Gambling Fund for our renovations grant.

The Hervey Bay Art Society would like to extend their thanks for the generous grant of $15,000 from The Community Bank - Bendigo Bank Hervey Bay presented at yesterday's Community Showcase. We are so very grateful, and this will used for the renovations of our facade and gallery interior. We can't wait to show off our progress and our finished Gallery.

Gabrielle Winton's work
"Neilo's In The 70's" inspired by a nostalgic poetry piece from Trace Hillcoat about Neilsons Park at Bargara, goes off to it's new home today.
Sad to see the end of our amazing exhibition "Bundaberg People & Places" which was a collaboration with Painters, Potters and Poets, however, John Learmonth and Gillan will doubtless find the perfect spot to hang this beauty.
