Vale Lenny “Len” Jansen 💛
It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear friend, Lenny “Len” Jansen.
For many years, Len was the voice of the Bundaberg Show. Every show began with Len walking into the office with his trademark happy-go-lucky personality, asking, “What do you need me to do to make our show bigger and better?” His willingness to help, infectious enthusiasm, and dedication were second to none.
Throughout each of the three days and nights of the Show, Len could be found announcing across the Main Arena, Woodchop and Cattle sections, walking countless kilometres to keep competitors and the public informed of everything happening around the grounds. He knew so many of our competitors personally—many spanning generations of the same families—and his genuine connection with our Show community was something truly special.
As Len’s health declined, our Show family continued to keep in touch and follow his journey, hoping for the very best.
Len was much more than our announcer, he was our friend. His voice, kindness, humour, and unwavering commitment to the Bundaberg Show will never be forgotten.
On behalf of the Bundaberg Show Society, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Len’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest peacefully, Len. Thank you for everything you gave to our Show community. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 💙
