✔ Deliveries & warehouse work

💪 Applicants must be physically fit and able to lift/carry stock safely.

✅ Suitable for:
• People aged 15+
• Those who may never had a job before
• People wanting a fresh start
• Anyone who has struggled to find work or been out of the workforce for a long time

💵 Paid under Traineeship Award Rates
⏰ Full-time – 38 hours per week

We have the lovely ladies from at Angels Mini Mart tomorrow from 9am. The ladies will be donating their time to give free hair cuts to those who need them. No need to book an appointment just come on in between 9am-11am and they will freshen your hair up for you!

🌟 A Helpful Morning at Angels Mini Mart 🌟
Tomorrow morning, Tuesday 21st April, is shaping up to be a really supportive and community-focused time out the front of Angels Mini Mart (66 Targo Street, Bundy)

🧺 Orange Sky (8am – 11am)
Our wonderful friends from Orange Sky will be there as they are every week, offering free laundry services for anyone who doesn’t have access to their own facilities.
They’re also always up for a friendly chat, sometimes that’s just as important.

👕 Thread Together (9am – 11am)
We’re excited to welcome for the first time!
They’ll be set up right next to Orange Sky in the car park, providing brand new, quality clothing to those in our community who are doing it tough. Their mission is to reduce fashion waste while supporting people who need it most.
If you’re doing it tough in Bundy, please come down, they may be able to help you with some clothing items.

First 24 hours of clean up from the flood. We are so thankful to the huge group of people on the Tuesday who came in and packed the whole shop and most of the warehouse up. We were able to save so much.

Thursday morning, it was time to clean up, the first 24 hours were quite sobering realising how much we still had to throw out and replace. As someone who had never experienced the aftermath from a flood it was very eye opening.

A huge thanks to the team from Central Highlands Fabrications who came down from Capella with a water pressure trailer and donated cleaning supplies, equipment and even hired a truck to help clear out all the flood rubble. The team worked through the week and weekend to help Angels clear out the mess so we could put the shop back together.

We have more videos and photos we want to post, they are a couple of weeks behind as at the time it was all about getting in and working through it!

We are now open and operating as normal so come on into 66 Targo Street and shop discount groceries to help stretch your dollar further!

We are still hard at it behind the scenes cleaning up, getting all our stock and equipment back on site and getting the shop, cafe, and warehouse back in order so we can reopen.

We know between 300-400 Bundy locals shop at Angels Mini Mart everyday to stretch their budget further. With the cost of living rising, groceries, fuel, rent has all increased our Mini Mart shoppers do their best by using their resources wisely and shopping budget when they can.

We have also had to pause our school lunch program which serves 400 school lunches a week to local students. Our welfare furniture and house hold goods service is out of action which is a service we offer to those who are newly into accomodation after being homeless or having to leave their home on short notice usually with very little belongings.

To get all this back up and running we need to open up Angels Mini Mart. This is a huge undertaking physically and financially. If you are in the position to help please donate via our website.

A couple of photos from Tuesday and Wednesday at Angels Mini Mart and our warehouse.

Sitting here on Sunday night looking back at them, it’s hard to believe this was only a few days ago. It honestly feels like a lifetime ago. The last few days have been big, emotional, and overwhelming at times but also incredibly humbling.

Coming back and seeing just how high the water reached has only made us more grateful for what happened before the flood. When we rented our space in Targo Street, this was always our biggest fear. We never really had a perfect plan for it, we just hoped it would never happen. And if it did, we always said we would reach out to the community and get in and haul everything out together.

And that’s exactly what happened.

On Tuesday, so many people showed up and helped us move stock, equipment, and whatever we could before the water came. These photos of the water show just how much there was. Seeing it now really puts into perspective the effort everyone made and how much that support meant to us.

Since these photos were taken, so much progress has already been made. So many people have come back again and again to help clean, sort, and start putting things back together. We can’t wait to show you just how much has been done.

Angels Community Group will be back. Just as determined as before, but hopefully more organised, sparkling clean, and even more grateful to be part of a community like Bundaberg.

Tonight we’re taking a moment to rest and recover a little before a very big week ahead.

Update:
Angel’s Mini Mart and Café remain closed while we continue the clean-up process.
Angels Second 2 None Op Shop (67 Bourbong Street) is open and operating as normal.

A huge thank you to our incredible community who acted so quickly and showed up to help us yesterday. The support from businesses, volunteers and community members was nothing short of amazing, and we are so grateful for everyone who stepped in to help us move stock and equipment before the water came in.

For now, we sit and wait for the water to go down before we can get in and begin the cleanup process.

We know we are definitely not the only ones facing this right now. Our thoughts are with everyone who have been evacuated from their homes, those who don’t have a dry home to return to, and the many neighbouring businesses in Bundaberg going through the same situation.
We’re thinking of you all. We’ll keep everyone updated as things progress.

So grateful this week not only did we have the wonderful team from The Agency Bundaberg & Gladstone back at Angels, but we also had all the kids visit too. They dropped off another incredible donation, chosen by Steve and Jodi.
The agency donates $1,000 back into the community every time they sell a home, and we’re so honoured to be chosen again by another family. This generous support will go straight into our Angels School Lunch Program as we get ready to kick it off again. Thank you for backing our kids and our community 🥪 🍎 🧃

Tomorrow morning (Monday), we’re really looking forward to welcoming the lovely volunteers from Hair Aid to Angels Community Group.

Between 9am and 11am, they’ll be here offering free haircuts to people who may be doing it tough.

A haircut might seem like a small thing, but it can make a huge difference, helping someone feel a bit more like themselves, boosting confidence, and creating a moment of connection and care. Sometimes it’s not just about the haircut, but the conversation and kindness that comes with it.
