💚 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Sally! 💚

For Sally, the best part of volunteering is the amazing people she meets and the stories they share.

After going through cancer herself 16 years ago and receiving incredible care and support, Sally wanted the opportunity to give back. Now, she's doing just that in several volunteer roles at Bundaberg Hospital, supporting patients through our Eat Walk Engage program, the Palliative, Acute Rehabilitation and Acute Stroke (PARAS) Unit, and as a Community Car driver.

Sally hopes her story might inspire others to consider volunteering and experience the rewards of giving back.

Thank you, Sally, for the care, kindness and compassion you bring to our patients and hospital community.

💖 DONATION IN ACTION 👏

Earlier this year, the Native Sons Motorcycle Club donated $3,000 to Partners in Care Together after raising funds with the incredible support of The 'New' Globe Hotel and its patrons.

And now, that generosity is making a difference for local patients, helping us purchase thermometers for people receiving cancer treatment at Bundaberg Hospital. 🌡

For many people undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, monitoring their temperature at home is an important part of managing their health and identifying signs of infection early.

These practical items fall outside Queensland Health funding, highlighting the meaningful difference community support can make.

This is what Partners in Care Together is all about: bringing our community together to fund Wishlist items that make a real difference for patients and families across the Wide Bay, Fraser Coast and North Burnett.

Thanks to the generosity of the Native Sons Motorcycle Club, Joe and Vicky at The Globe Hotel, and everyone who contributed, this donation is now making a real difference. 💚

As our Café & Programs Manager, Bre keeps our cafés running smoothly, supports our wonderful volunteers, and connects people with a range of volunteer opportunities offered through Partners in Care Together.

Whether she's behind the coffee machine, welcoming volunteers, or working with hospital teams to grow our volunteer programs, Bre is the friendly face making it all happen. 😊
