FABRICATORS & OLD-SCHOOL PANEL BEATERS — what’s one metal-shaping trick someone taught you that you still use today?
Because we want you to pass it down.
These young blokes might look like they're just building fire pits, but look a little closer.
They're learning how steel moves.
Drilling. Hydraulic punching. Dimple dies. Hammer and dolly. Tucking. Shrinking. Folding and forming edges.
Right now, it's a fire pit.
One day it'll be a wheel tub, floor pan, transmission tunnel or a panel they have to make from scratch.
But here's the bit we can't teach them from a textbook.
That little trick an old bloke showed you 20 years ago.
The way you hold the dolly.
Where you hit and where you don't.
How you know when to shrink instead of stretch.
The s**t you only learn after years behind a hammer.
That's the knowledge we want these boys surrounded by.
So don't just give them a like.

🔥 MASSIVE SHOUTOUT TO LUKE CLIFTON 🔥

Luke Clifton came down Thursday night and spent his time with the boys, teaching them how to properly lay down some beads and sharing the skills and knowledge he’s picked up over the years.

This is what makes BBS work.

It’s professionals like Luke who are willing to walk through the doors, give up a bit of their time and actually pass their knowledge onto the next generation that make a real impact.

You don't have to be a counsellor.
You don't have to be a youth worker.

Sometimes you just need a skill, a bit of patience, and the willingness to pass it on.

The boys weren't just welding Thursday night — they were learning from someone who took the time to believe they were worth teaching.

THIS is why we do it.
Last night wasn’t about perfect welds.
It wasn’t about building the best fire pit.
It was about watching these young blokes pick up a grinder, pull down the welding helmet and have a crack.
Learning to measure.
Learning to cut.
Learning to weld.
Learning that stuffing it up is part of learning how to get it right.
But the best part?
Watching the confidence grow.
Someone trusted them with the tools. Someone stood beside them and showed them how. Then eventually… they did it themselves.
F**k, we’re proud of these guys.
And it got us thinking…
Who was the person that first gave YOU a chance?
The old bloke who handed you a tool.
The boss who took you on when you knew nothing.
Your dad, pop, uncle, teacher, mate…

So that’s exactly what they’re doing.

They’re learning to weld, grind, measure, drill and use dimple dies. They’re planning the job, solving problems, working as a team and learning that the skills in their hands have real value.

These aren’t just fire pits knocked together from old drums.

They’re something the boys designed, built and can stand back and be bloody proud of.

WHAT IF?
What if BBS was around when you were growing up?
How different would your life be if you’d had good men who believed in you?
What if someone saw your potential before they saw your mistakes?
What if you had somewhere to belong when home didn’t feel safe?
A shed where you could learn, stuff up and try again, without being made to feel like a failure.
What if someone had asked, “Are you alright?” and actually stayed for the answer?
How many different choices would you have made if someone had shown you another road?
We can’t go back and change what we didn’t have.
But we can make damn sure the next generation doesn’t have to figure it all out alone.
That’s why BBS exists.
To build cars.
To build confidence.
To build better men.
Maybe we can become the men we needed when we were young.
