National Volunteering Conference 2026 - held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people - has been days of lots of learnings from the sessions and from many conversations with like-minded people in our sector. A great opportunity that I am truly appreciative of being a part of!

Volunteering with EdConnect Australia is a meaningful and deeply rewarding way to support young people in your community.

Our volunteers assist students throughout the school year in a variety of ways. People of all ages and backgrounds bring their skills, life experience and friendly presence into local schools, enriching students’ lives and often providing stability, encouragement and a trusted adult connection that some young people may be missing.

Vinnies is looking for Volunteer Truck Drivers in Bunbury!

Want to make a real difference in your community while staying active and meeting great people? Vinnies Bunbury Depot is on the lookout for friendly, reliable volunteers to help us keep essential donations moving.

As a volunteer truck driver, you’ll:
• Pick up and deliver furniture to local customers
• Collect donations from donation bins in and around Bunbury
• Help transfer stock between Vinnies shops

If you’ve got a friendly attitude, a current C class driver's license, and a heart for helping others, we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer South West presented the EMPOWER and the Regional Out of the Box Volunteering programs at the 2026 Volunteer Management Activity Project Showcase!
It was a great opportunity for Volunteer Managers to learn rich insights from projects that aim to break down barriers to volunteering.
Over the past year, eight exciting projects funded through the Volunteer Management Activity have made measurable inroads into breaking down barriers to volunteering.

Since becoming a Driver Mentor with End to End Driver Training Peter has helped dozens of people on their licensing journey to gain valuable experience on the road. This has enabled many of them to sit their Practical Driving Assessment and gain their Provisional Licence. Shout out to Peter!

Peter says "When I retired, I decided I would like to find something in a volunteer capacity to give back. I found the driving program through South West and decided that this was something that interested me. I have now been a volunteer mentor for over 18 months and find it very rewarding. It is satisfying knowing that I am able to assist others in gaining their independence through obtaining their license. It is also fulfilling to develop a friendship with the candidates as we spend a lot of time together."

We are so grateful to Peter for the time and dedication he gives to our Program and look forward to many more people gaining the skills necessary to sit their Practical Driving Assessment and gain their Provisional Licence with his assistance.
