Leschenault Catchment Council

Leschenault Catchment Council Working with our community for a healthy catchment. We strive to enable all folks in the protection of the diverse beauty of this region.

Located in the South West of WA, we proudly assist in the development of a sustainable future for people, culture and the environment, in many ways big and small. Currently, our projects focus within four main categories; improving the regions waterways, estuary and marine habitats; sustainable agriculture and other land uses; supporting the biodiversity of our native bushlands, forests and waterw

ays; and creating space for community participation, education and connection. With our motivated community, we are able to share our passion through engaging workshops; on-ground environmental projects; and volunteer opportunities. Join us – come say hi, encouraging everyone to be part of this community is core to who we are, but also a fun and effective way for you to make a difference.

We had such a great time over the weekend with Mandy and Mike Bamford, installing habitat at the LCC office courtyard and talking about simple solutions to supporting biodiversity in our own backyards.

Over a very short time we managed to build and install a quenda bungalow, frog bog, and gabion wall in the garden, plus a bunch of small fauna hotels for participants to take home.

Thanks to everyone for coming along and a special thanks to Mandy and Mike for sharing their knowledge!

We've got one more event coming up as part of the Wildlife Stewardship Series, funded by the City of Bunbury through their Habitat Bunbury Program. Don't miss it! Wednesday 24th June - Making your Garden Safe for Wildlife - where we'll be joined by Dr Boyd Wykes (Owl Friendly Margaret River Region) and Chris Ferreira (The Forever Project ).

Wow! What a weekend! 🌱🌿πŸ’ͺ

Almost 30 community volunteers joined us at Clifton Park Foreshore this morning to plant over 400 local native seedlings! Plantings at Clifton Park will help combat foreshore erosion, provide more habitat and add even more beauty to this special spot with stunning flowers.

We love seeing the support for our environment from the community! Let's keep the momentum going! Check out upcoming plantings and events on our website here: https://www.leschenaultcc.org.au/events

New LCC Planting Record!🌿πŸ’ͺ

What a great turnout this morning for our Pelican Point Foreshore Community Planting!

A total of 60 amazing community volunteers joined us this morning to plant 580 local native seedlings at Pelican Point Foreshore, creating a new record attendance and continuing on the great work from our 2 previous years of soil amendment trials at the site.

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that turned and to those that helped pout in the last few remaining seedlings! We also want to extend a special thank you to the members of the HSS Australia group for joining us!

Let's see if we can top those numbers at our next planting!

Want to join the fun? Check out our upcoming planting days on our website here: https://www.leschenaultcc.org.au/communityplanting2026
