Child and Parent Centre Carey Park

Child and Parent Centre Carey Park We offer playgroups, parenting workshops and a variety of services to help support parents in giving their children the best start in life.

All of our programs are available free of charge to the Bunbury community. Child and Parent Centre – Carey Park is a fun, vibrant community that values families as the first teachers of children. We provide tools, programs and support to help parents and carers in this all important role. Our little people are our future, and it’s our responsibility as a whole community to ensure they grow up feel

ing loved and cared for. We offer a wide variety of activities and service that are constantly reviewed to meet the needs and wants of our families. We have music, playgroups, support groups, parenting programs and more – check out our Weekly Programs or Services and Workshops Page for more information. All programs are free of charge. Conveniently located at Carey Park Primary School, we are open to all families in the community, including surrounding areas. Look for the lemon trees on the other side of the staff car park and you’ll find us! Child and Parent Centre – Carey Park is managed by Investing In Our Youth in partnership with Carey Park Primary School. We are funded by the WA State Government through Department of Education. Our programs and services are available free of charge to the Bunbury community.

🤖 How AI Is Influencing New Online Risks for Children & Young People
A FREE webinar session from Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, supporting parents and caregivers to build the knowledge, skills and tools to help children have safe, positive online experiences.

AI is now built into many of the apps, games and platforms young people use every day. While it can offer creativity and convenience, it also brings new and evolving risks.

In this 45‑minute webinar, we’ll unpack:
⚠️ The types of AI‑related risks children may encounter — including AI chatbots, deepfakes, AI influencers, and AI‑driven cyberbullying or harassment
🔐 How these technologies can impact safety, privacy, development, and mental and social wellbeing
🛠️ Practical, easy‑to‑use strategies and resources to guide and support your child — including what to do if something goes wrong and where to seek help

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Suitable for parents and carers of young people in primary and secondary school

We’ve officially moved into Makuru season 🌧️

Makuru is known as the coldest and wettest time of the year in the South West. It’s a season of rain, strong winds, flowing waterways and beautiful signs of new life beginning to appear across Country, including vibrant blue and purple flowers in bloom.

We love learning more about the Noongar six seasons and the knowledge they share about caring for and understanding the environment around us.

Information referenced from Edith Cowan University’s Noongar Six Seasons resource.
