We want to send our a big thank you to all those who have supported Sandon Point Surf Club over the summer season with our fundraising + Sippers series.

Without your support we could not have reached our milestones including the purchase of of a beach mobility chair at a cost of $5,000.00 for our members with a disability.

We have been advised that a whale carcass removal is underway today (1 May), with NSW National Parks relocating it from Era Beach to Bellambi Boat Ramp.

There is a strong likelihood of increased shark activity between Stanwell Park and Bellambi Point over the coming days. As these beaches are currently unpatrolled, so formal closures are in place - HOWEVER in patrol season, beaches would close for 24–48 hours after such an event.

It is strongly recommended to avoid all in-water activities in this area until at least Monday, and postpone or relocate activities near the removal site, including Bellambi Harbour

Please use caution and make informed decisions during this elevated-risk period.

This Friday 24th and Sunday 26th April will be last drinks for the 25-26 summer season. Come on down, enjoy a drink or two and by popular demand the president will be cooking up his famous fish burgers!

We thank each and everyone who has come and shared Sippers and supported our wonderful club for this 25-26 season.

Nash Hawkins - 13yr Boys 200m Breaststroke Winner - 2026 Australian Age Championships + New Record

We need to send out a special congratulations to our member Nash Hawkins on his recent results at the Australian Swimming Age Championships. Not only did he bringing home 3 medals, he has also completely smashed the 13 year boys National Record in 200m Breaststroke which was previously held by gold medal Olympian and former world record holder Zac Stubblety-Cook.

Nash started at Sandon Point as a under 6 nipper and recently obtained his SRC and is now a regular face on the patrolling roster.

Whilst we also extend a huge congratulations to his coach Tracey Waters from , we all know it truly was Terry, Ken and SP crew who inspired Nash's love and connection to the water..!!

From 3pm today, the President will be cooking up his special fish burgers! Come and join us at the club to celebrate the Easter long weekend.

Our final nippers for the 2025/2026 season will be held on Sunday, starting at 10am. Normal nipper events will be followed by the presentation of medals to all of the age groups from u6 to u13.

U14 presentation will take place at the club presentation night held after seasons end.

On behalf of the Junior Committee I would like to thank all of our Nippers and Families for their participation in yet another great season at Sandon Point!

Looking forward to seeing you for the last one!

The Sandon Point Challenge will be held on Saturday the 7th of February. Registrations from 4pm to 4.30 pm. Start time 5pm.

The challenge is a fun family event consisting of 8 legs to test your fitness and ocean skills. Each team will need:
2 runners
2 swimmers
2 body board paddlers
2 nipper board paddlers

Teams must have 2 members under the age of 14 years and in addition at least 1 female to make up the team of 8. This year the run leg will be shortened to 150 meters, halfway to the reef and back. If your unable to field a team of 8 team, members can complete 2 legs but have to have a minimum of 5 members per team.

The reigning champions are Sandon Point Board Riders Club but Terry's team, 'Hagans Heroes', are confident to reclaim the title.
