🌾πŸ”₯ Live near open grass or paddocks?

Grassfires can spread quickly, particularly on windy days.

βœ”οΈ Keep grass maintained
βœ”οΈ Clear dry vegetation
βœ”οΈ Review your fire plan

Preparation matters.

πŸš—πŸ”₯ Avoid parking in dry grass.

Hot exhaust systems can ignite grass underneath your vehicle.

If grass is dry:

❌ Don’t park on it
❌ Avoid driving through it

Help prevent unnecessary fires.

⚠️ Using machinery, welding or grinding?

On high fire danger days, sparks can start grassfires quickly.

Before beginning:

Before you use a BBQ or light a fire for cooking outdoors, it is important that you first check:
β€’ Is the Fire Danger Period in place? πŸ”₯
β€’ Has a Total Fire Ban Day been declared? 🚫
Rules about fires for cooking can change depending on the time of year and where you are in Victoria, and CFA wants to make sure that our communities are safe and following the restrictions.

Using a BBQ? πŸŒπŸ”We love to use them and enjoy time with our loved ones with a snag and some burgers. But did you know that during the Fire Danger Period and on Total Fire Bans there are restrictions on using them?

🚨 TOTAL FIRE BAN – EXTREME FIRE DANGER (RATING 81) 🚨

Tomorrow is declared a Total Fire Ban day with an Extreme Fire Danger Rating of 81.

Catastrophic conditions begin at 99.
We are not far off that mark.

If the recent Clarkefield fire and the fire along Loemans Road showed us anything, it’s how fast a fire can escalate under the right conditions. What starts small can become uncontrollable within minutes when wind, heat and fuel align.

On Extreme Fire Danger days:

πŸ”₯ Fires start easily
πŸ”₯ Fires spread rapidly
πŸ”₯ Embers travel kilometres ahead of the main front
πŸ”₯ Firefighters can struggle to contain fast-moving runs

Do not underestimate tomorrow.

Now is the time to:
βœ… Review your fire plan
βœ… Identify your trigger to leave
βœ… Prepare essential items
βœ… Clear around your home where possible
βœ… Monitor warnings closely

If conditions deteriorate, leaving early is always the safest option. Waiting until you can see flames or heavy smoke may be too late.

Download and monitor the VicEmergency App and follow all official advice.

Bulla CFA will be ready β€” make sure you are too.

Stay alert. Stay informed. Act early.
