Today is First Responders Day 💙❤️💛

To our Police. Firefighters. Marine Rescue. Surf Lifesavers. Ambos. SES and everyone that continues to turn out and keep out great country safe thank you!

If you know a First Responder, please take time today to thank them for their service. Thank their families and loved ones for allowing them to turn out in support of communities.

And a friendly reminder if you hear those sirens ringing and you are on the road, safely move out of their way so they can act quick in the event of emergency.

Fires in the kitchen are the leading cause of house fires in NSW. The cause is almost always the same - unattended cooking.

If you leave the kitchen, turn the stove off. A hot plate only needs a minute.

A cold dinner beats a house fire.

Be fire safe this winter.

You won’t have time to think when smoke is filling through your hallway.

Walk through your home and find two ways out of every room. Pick a safe meeting place outside and practice your escape plan with everyone you live with, children included.

Have your plan accessible and ready to go.
