🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip: Beating the Heat! 🌱

Bugle Hut just survived a 45-degree scorcher yesterday, and if your lawn could talk, it’d probably be crying out, “I’m cooked!” 🥵☀️ But don’t panic—here’s how to help your grass recover and keep it thriving through summer:

1️⃣ Water early: Give your lawn a cool, refreshing drink before 9 AM. Think of it as its morning iced coffee! 💧
2️⃣ Mow high: Set your mower to 2.5–3 inches to give your grass its own sun umbrella. Taller blades help shade the soil and hold in that precious moisture. 🌴
3️⃣ Soil wetter magic: Stubborn dry patches? A soil wetter will make sure every drop of water gets where it needs to go—straight to the roots!
4️⃣ Skip the stress: Leave mowing or heavy foot traffic for cooler times. Yesterday’s heatwave was rough—your lawn deserves a break.

With a little extra love, your lawn will bounce back greener and tougher, even in this Bugle Hut summer! 🌟

How’s your grass holding up? Any tips for battling the heat? Let us know below! 👇

🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip: Evict the Beetles! 🌱

It’s the first week of summer, and while we’re all gearing up for green lawns and backyard BBQs, some uninvited guests might already be making themselves at home—lawn beetles! 🪲

Here’s how to deal with these pesky intruders:
1️⃣ Identify the damage: Look for yellow patches, thinning grass, or evidence of beetle larvae (grubs) in the soil.
2️⃣ Apply a grub control treatment: Use a lawn-safe pesticide specifically targeting beetle larvae. Timing is key—stop the grubs before they mature!
3️⃣ Encourage predators: Birds, beneficial nematodes, and even chickens can help reduce beetle populations naturally.
4️⃣ Fertilize & water deeply: After treatment, help your lawn recover with a slow-release fertilizer and deep watering to promote strong root growth.

Let’s stop these beetles in their tracks and keep those lawns premium this summer. 🌟

🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip 🌱

After plenty of rain and the passing of a storm, those lawns are gearing up to be the greenest they’ve been all year! 🌧️☀️ But with summer just around the corner, now’s the time to lock in that moisture and prep your lawn for the heat.

Here’s how:
1️⃣ Mulch those clippings: Leave them on the lawn to act as a natural barrier against evaporation.
2️⃣ Feed the lawn: Apply a slow-release fertilizer to keep the growth steady and healthy through summer.
3️⃣ Deep watering: If it dries out, give the lawn a deep soak once or twice a week—shallow watering won’t cut it in summer!

With the rain we’ve had, a little prep now will have your lawn ready to shine all summer long. Who’s ready for a backyard BBQ on the greenest lawn in Bugle Hut? 🍻🌱

Thanks to Jamie Fisher for this week’s lawn snap… looks like harvest dosnt get in the way of good lawn!

🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip (on a Wednesday!) 🌱

Sometimes, even our reception takes a day off! But this tip is too good to wait until next week.

Broadleaf w**ds aren’t just annoying—they’re moisture thieves! 💧

Moisture is the key to a lush lawn, and w**ds steal it right from your grass. A pre-emergent herbicide stops these intruders before they sprout, saving that precious water for your lawn’s roots.

Want an extra edge? Apply a soil wetter to help water sink deeper into the soil and keep your grass hydrated even in dry spells.

Remember, every drop counts when it comes to lawn perfection! How do you keep your lawn lush and w**d-free? Share your tips below! 👇

🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip 🌱

We may be cutting low this year to get every grain from our crops, but when it comes to lawns, height is where it’s at! 📏

Set your mower to 2.5–3 inches for a stronger, healthier lawn. Taller grass shades the soil, keeps moisture in, and helps choke out those pesky w**ds. It’s all about finding that perfect cut to keep your lawn thriving!

How high do you mow? Share your tips or mower settings below! 👇

🌱 Tuesday Lawn Tip: Aeration Edition! 🌱

Check out this lawn getting some paw-some aeration from one of our four-legged friends! 🐾 Who needs an aerator when your dog is on the job? 😄

Aerating helps your lawn absorb water, nutrients, and oxygen, giving it the boost it needs to grow strong and healthy. Whether you’re using a machine or getting a little help from your furry farm hand, it’s a win for your lawn!

Thanks to Steve Nitschke for sharing this great shot! Got any unique aeration methods or funny lawn stories? Drop them below! 👇

🌾 Lawn Tip Tuesday 🌾

Think of your mower like the front on your harvester: you wouldn’t tackle wheat with a blunt knife, right? Same with your lawn! Dull mower blades tear the grass instead of cutting it, leaving it looking rough and patchy—like a paddock after a drought.

Sharpen those mower blades for a clean cut, healthier grass, and a lawn as smooth as a freshly harvested barley field!
