In the past few weeks there have been a number of Koala sightings in the northern part of the sanctuary.
Sanctuary Association Volunteers have also noticed people with large dogs "Off Leash".

Wandering dogs and koalas cannot coexist.

All dogs in the Foote Sanctuary must be restrained on a leash. If people persist in abusing the privelege to bring their dogs to the sanctuary restrained, the Sanctuary Association will recommend to Sunshine Coast Council that dogs be prohibited in the the Sanctuary in future.

Foote Sanctuary volunteers have recommenced the upgrade of the Cascades Track by placing additional steps in some of the badly eroded sections. We are now past the point where we have access with the power carrier due to the steep slope, so each step has to be carried in on a two man frame developed for the purpose. Today five more steps were installed.
