Before kids, creative flow looked like spending hours disappearing into a project, sometimes forgetting the need to eat or drink or use the bathroom. Total absorption.

Now it looks like... ✨ finding a crayon in your pocket three days later, ✨ singing your grocery list, ✨ having your best idea while wiping someone's nose.

Parenting asks so much of our nervous systems that creativity can start to feel like another thing on the to-do list. But what if the path back isn't about trying harder?
What if it's about tending the body first?

At Root & Restore, herbalist Lucy will introduce gentle plant allies that have long been used to nourish the nervous system, helping us move from frazzled survival mode toward a place where imagination, play and creative flow have room to return.

Because the muse still lives on in parenting life. They may just take a different form.

Come refill your cup, meet like-hearted humans, and discover how the plant world can support you to create, parent and live with a little more ease. 🌿💚

Hello lovely Parents,

We are putting on workshop this Saturday called Root and Restore at Mycelium Studios, 2pm

It is to explore how herbs can help us connect with our creative flow, which I know can be so hard once we have kids but also so nourishing!

We will learn about the different herbs and also learn how to make a tincture.

I have definitely found so much help in my creative life through cultivating relationships with plant allies and we want to offer this to the community ❤️

We hope to see you there

Love,
Marisa

🌿 Final Wild Hearted Parents Session – Open to the Public 🌿

After six weeks of gathering in circle, sharing stories, laughter, tears, challenges and small triumphs, we're opening our final Wild Hearted Parents session to the wider community.

Our final session is Root and Restore ~ Herbal Nervous system Support for Parents with Lucy Alexander of Earth Roots Apothecary.

Lucy is a herbalist whose roots run deep across two countries and two continents, having run a clinical practice in Argentina before relocating to Dja Dja Wurrung Country late last year, where she is slowly and lovingly rebuilding her apothecary from the ground up. Plants have been her companions through the beauty and the weight of motherhood, supporting her family's health and helping her to ground while navigating all the complexities of raising a child in this world.

✨ Thursday
✨ 10am–12pm
✨ Pound Bend, Warrandyte
✨ $33 casual attendance

Wild Hearted Parents is a listening circle for parents exploring a more connected, relational approach to family life. Our conversations weave together Aware Parenting, nervous system awareness, self-care, community, and the realities of raising children in these times.

No prior experience needed. Come as you are.

We have a lovely babysitter and it costs $10 per child to opt in.

To book: https://events.humanitix.com/wild-hearted-parents

Feel free to share with any parents who might appreciate a gentle and supportive space. 🌿

Please be my little girl for ever and ever and ever and ever and ever 😭💔

Also, we would love you to join us for Wild Hearted Parents on the banks of the Birrarung. Bring your grief, your joy, your longing.

~~~~~~~
Wild Hearted Parents is a 6-week circle hosted by Marisa and Felicity on the banks of the mighty Birrarung. It is a space for parents who are wanting more depth, connection and support as we navigate raising our kids in these dystopic times.
It’s a mix of Aware Parenting, listening space, and real, honest community. We will be holding a loving space for people to share the mess, the love, the overwhelm, the joy, the questions, and the big feelings (ours and theirs).
We will have a babysitter doing some nature play activities with the kiddos so that parents can drop into the sharing circle.
🌿 Dates:
30th April
7th May
14th May
21st May
28th May
4th June
✨ Plus a special final session:
11th June Root & Restore: Herbal Nervous System Support for Parents with my bestie, Lucy Alexander
If you’ve been or a space that aligns with rewilding and re-villaging values, we'd love to have you.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all 💛
Thanks Joshy for the photo
