CERES Bees The CERES Bee Group. Beekeepers, and bee enthusiasts of CERES Community Environment Park! The CERES Bee group is open to the public for membership.

As a visitor or member we can show you all about bee-keeping, guidelines and responsibilities, industry memberships such as The Victorian Apiarists Association and practical advice on making up frames and bee hive equipment. And if you feel like giving us a hand maintaining the bee space, that’d be great too. We meet on the 3rd Sunday of every month in the market area at 9.30am and welcome new vis

itors and members. If you miss us in the cafe then head down to the apiary. There is some good information about getting started in backyard beekeeping available here:

Sadly there have been detections of Varroa mites in areas surrounding CERES Brunswick. We are doing checks on the CERES Bee Group hives and so far have not detected any mites. This is a reminder to backyard beekeepers to please check for mites in your hives via one of the approved methods outlined by Agriculture Victoria. If you detect Varroa contact Agriculture Victoria immediately for advice.

Come along to Bee Group! We meet at the CERES Apiary at 10am on the 3rd Sunday every month.

The CERES Bee group is open to anyone interested in learning more about bee-keeping and meeting like-minded people.
We welcome new visitors and members and have protective suits and veils for visitor use. As part of our apiary biosecurity we can’t allow personal beekeeping suits/veils or equipment/tools into the apiary. Please note we start at 10am sharp.

Membership is paid in September each year $24 but you can also join up anytime and pay pro rata. You don’t have to be a member to attend your first group. 🐝
