It’s Plant Highlight time!

This time we have currants. An unusual and possibly underrated addition to your garden these little plants grow clusters of gorgeous fruit that look spectacular when ripe. The Red and White are the same species, while the Black is a different species altogether.

Found growing naturally on the edge of riverbanks and shaded forests in Western Europe, they are a great addition to any garden that has a difficult shaded spot to fill! Keep in mind that they are winter dormant though 🥶

We have all 3 currants available as bare root plants in the Nursery now 💚

PSA: Nursery closed Tuesday 30th June for our stocktake!

That’s right y’all, it’s bare root season again!

Now in the Nursery are our bare root trees, potted up for the taking. We have a good selection of full size and dwarf, as well as currants and berries.

These include:
Almond
Apples
Cherry
Fig
Mulberry
Nectarine
Peach
Pear
Persimmon
Plum
Pomegranate
Quince
+ some ornamental trees too

* Currently we have no Apricots for those seeking one, we are trying to remedy this and will hopefully have an update soon.

As a reminder some trees need a pollination partner so check out the pollination guide in our linktree (in bio) or come and have a chat with us!

Second in our little plant highlight series is Mustard Greens! 🥬

These quick-growing leafy greens are perfect to grow over the cooler months, adding plenty of ornamental value to veggie beds and a spicy kick to salads and stir fries. We stock a few different types of mustard greens, giving you heaps of variety to choose from. We also have plenty of cookbooks in the shop to explore pickling and fermenting recipes, which is a great way to use up large harvests! Try planting something new this season and add a few to your garden 😋

Yay for new, fun things - We have added a few lovely additions to our collection here in the Nursery and are keen to share them with you!

🌱 Seed packets of pink and white paper daisies (Rhodanthe chlorocephala ssp. rosea) from . These self-seeding annual flowers put on a big garden show and make amazing cut and dried flower bouquets!

🌾 Indigenous seed packets from . From interesting grass species to wildflowers and shrubs, we have a great selection for those keen to propagate local species from seed!

🪏 100% post-consumer recycled hand tools from Aboriginal owned and operated . These lightweight tools are made in Australia by diverting waste to create colourful garden tools.

📚 A new guide to the Eucalyptus species of Melbourne by . Grab this handy local guide to learn about the beautiful gums around us.
