Do you know your options regarding the recent Supported Independent Living (SIL) changes?

Recent NDIS reforms mean that all SIL providers will be required to be registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. These changes will commence on 1 July 2026, with SIL providers required to be registered or have applied for registration by 1 October 2026. Importantly, participant funding and supports do not automatically change because of these reforms.

If you currently receive SIL supports and are unsure what these changes mean for you, now is the time to start asking questions and exploring your options.

As a registered NDIS provider, RCS offers a range of supports including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Assistance with Daily Living Supports, Community Access and Medium and Short-Term Accommodation (MTA & STA). We've helped many participants successfully transition home after both short and lengthy hospital stays, providing the right support every step of the way.

A great day out at the Gympie Show! 🎡🌸🦖

Out and about enjoying exploring the floral displays, checking out the dinosaur exhibit and taking on a few thrilling rides along the way. The Ali Baba ride definitely tested some bravery levels, while the Joker ride might have been a step too far this time 😅

These are the exact experiences that are enjoyable but also build capacity.

🌿 What a fantastic day at for our “A Hike We Will Go” adventure!

Participants and support workers came together to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful bush trails and meaningful connection out in nature. Days like these are a great reminder of the importance of community, wellbeing and creating opportunities to connect beyond everyday routines.

With wet weather continuing across South East Queensland, we’re encouraging everyone to stay safe and take extra care over the coming days.

Please remember:
🚗 Never drive through floodwater
⏰ Allow extra travel time
👟 Watch for slippery surfaces and walkways
📱 Keep phones charged in case of outages or emergencies
🏠 Stay updated with local weather warnings and emergency alerts

To our amazing support workers, participants, families, and community members; your safety always comes first. If plans need to change due to weather conditions, that’s okay.
