Rubibi community showed up on Sunday to mark two years since the most recent iteration of Israel's genocidal violence against the people of Palestine in Gaza 🇵🇸

While the recent ceasefire has brought a tiny sense of relief, the fight to end Israel's apartheid regime continues. The recent death of journalist Saleh Aljafarawi is an example of how the violence has not ended.

We will continue to hold our politicians to account!

We demand that Australia:
🍉 Immediately ends exports of weapons and their components to Israel
🍉 Expel the Israeli Ambassador and close the Australian embassy in Te Aviv
🍉 Enact a two-way trade embargo
🍉 Pressure Israel to uphold the ceasefire agreement
🍉 Endorse the International Criminal Court's rulings and honour war criminal arrest warrants

There has been no admission of the Australian government’s culpability in Israel’s Gaza genocide, and Australia continues to export weapons parts used to kill and endanger Palestinians.

Join the nationwide march for Palestine in Rubibi (Broome) to protest two years of genocide! 🍉

Next Sun 12 Oct, meet at 10am at Bedford Park (opposite Matsos) as we walk to the Broome courthouse markets.

Remember to bring your hats, water, and anything else you need to safely be able to walk the 1.8km return trip.

A HUGE turn out from Broome/Rubibi community today as we joined the Nationwide March for Palestine!

Led by First Nations and non-Indigenous organisers, the biggest Broome gathering in solidarity with Palestine since November 2023 felt energised with commitment and deeply frustrated with government inaction. Elders attended alongside new born babies and families, with people from all faiths including Muslim and Jewish marching side by side.

We marched with others across the continent to stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and to demand that the Australian government act decisively to stop Israel’s genocide in Gaza, the illegal annexation of the West Bank and to end the use of starvation as a weapon of war.

The people of Rubibi demand that Australia ( ):
- Immediately ends Australian exports of weapons and weapons components to Israel, in compliance with determinations of the International Courts;
- Expel the Israeli Ambassador to Australia and close the Australian Embassy in Tel Aviv;
- Enact a two-way trade embargo between Australia and Israel; and,
- Take action to ensure the immediate and unimpeded entry of aid and humanitarian assistance into Gaza.

Palestine will be free.

Rubibi/Broome friends of Palestine- please join us this Sunday morning, the 24th August at 10am as we walk from Bedford Park down to the markets in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

This Sunday we will be not only joining each other in Broome but forming a part of a nation wide march for Palestine to show up, show our support and to demand an end to the genocide.
