Female Soccer Carnival - Garnduwa's first ever female soccer carnival! We had 5 teams participating in the tournament between 3 schools in Wyndham and Kununurra. - Making Her Mark

The carnivals intention was to bring girls together across the East Kimberley to help the girls feel proud and empowered, as well as providing opportunity to participate in sport and express themselves with no barriers attached.

Team spirit, togetherness and passion was overflowing in all the teams representing their community. New friendships were made, barriers brought down and new opportunities were created as a result of this new Garnduwa initiative.

Katrina from KNX St. Josephs came out as player of the tournament as a result of her amazing attitude and determination.

EKC 2 went home with the grand prize of the signed Matildas jersey donated by Katrina Gorry - soccer player for the Matildas and former West Ham United captain.

EKC 2 beat KNX ST Joseph on golden goal in extra time after an initial 0-0 display in normal time! Amazing tournament, bring on 2027.

✨ Happy International Youth Day ✨

Today is International Youth Day, a reminder that every young person has something valuable to contribute. Whether it’s joining an advisory group, volunteering in your community, speaking up about an issue you care about, or helping shape decisions for the future your voice matters.

This year’s United Nations theme, Different Contexts, Common Aspirations, recognises that young people come from many different backgrounds, communities and experiences, yet share common hopes for opportunity, participation, connection and a positive future.

At Garnduwa we see every day the strength, leadership and potential of young people across the Kimberley. Through sport, culture and community, young people are creating positive change, building confidence and strengthening connections in their communities.

Today, we’re proud to celebrate International Youth Day and encourage all young people to get involved, have their say and continue shaping the future of the Kimberley.

Happy International Youth Day! 🌟
