To be eligible the young person must be
β€’ Aboriginal or Torres Islander
β€’ 16- 25 years old
β€’ Engaged full time in training, education or employment or a combination of these.
β€’ Willing to participate in our support program designed to increase their capacity to succeed.
β€’ Willing to do chores, cook clean etc to maintain the shared house and gardens and improve life skills.

Applicants must provide
β€’ Completed application form
β€’ If the participant is under 18 an Underage Applicant Checklist needs to be filled for us to give to Dept of Communities
β€’ Current National Police Clearance
β€’ Proof of income – last 2 payslips and or centrepay statements
β€’ Proof of enrolment or employment stating weekly commitment (days and hours)

Aboriginal Youth Housing in 6 Bagot Street currently have 3 rooms ready for occupancy. You must 16-25 years old, single, Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander and currently employed or in education or a mix of study and employment with a minimum of 28.5 hours per week.

We offer affordable accommodation and 24/7 support.

We currently have 4 vacancies in Aboriginal Youth Housing.

What we offer:
Affordable board and lodging
Supportive living environment
Quiet, safe accommodation

To be eligible the young person must be:
Aboriginal or Torres Islander
16- 25 years old
Engaged full-time in training, education or employment, or a combination of these.
Willing to participate in our support program designed to increase their capacity to succeed.
Willing to do chores, cook clean etc to maintain the shared house and gardens and improve life skills.

How do we Assist?:
We provide single Aboriginal people aged 16+ and engaged in training or employment with housing.
Housing can be long or short stay. Maximum 2 years.
We assist you by developing an individualised case management plan.
This plan assists participants to achieve independence, overcome personal and social issues, improve life skills, and set routines.
Where required we engage other service providers and health professionals to assist participants to address their barriers.
What we do
Participants receive help to become independent and are able to focus on training and employment.
Participants can stay with us for up to two years until they have completed their education or training. During this time, participants will be guided to plan their move into independent housing.

Our Staff:
Our fully trained support staff live on-site to assist with living and personal needs of the house.
Our Case Support Worker works closely with each participant and their employer/trainer to achieve success.

Support:
24-hour on-site support staff.
Help to achieve independence.
Help to overcome personal and social issues.
Improve life skills – Budgeting, cooking, and time management.
Work with external agencies.
Improve work skills – Punctuality, reliability, and communication.
Assistance with training.

Partnerships:
We pride ourselves on the relationships we create with employers, trainers, and other organizations.
We recognize that improved communication and support with participants can help realise their goals and increase their completion rates.
