Where purpose meets paradise: clean water, eco-ed & reef impact with aligned NGOs, surf & music 🌊

A Perfect Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization created to empower local communities in remote surf regions through education and skill acquisition to make a sustainable difference. Founded by The Perfect Wave Surf Experience, we wanted to be able to give back to the island communities that have allowed us to enjoy their natural resources and homelands. Through collaboration and direct support we are dedicated in assisting any way we can with the wants and needs of the local communities, while learning from them at the same time. A Perfect Foundation supports multiple programs through initiatives and fundraising for other established charities in these regions as well as our own community based Collaboration Centre in the Mentawai. This way we are able to make a direct difference where and when it is needed through medical, hygiene, clean water, education, skill acquisition and environmental programs. We can all make a difference, and through caring and collaboration we have the power to connect with people from many diverse cultures and create positive experiences.

Ever handed a piece of coral back to the ocean? 🪸
During our time in the Maldives this year, our guests teamed up and collected live coral fragments and put them onto 25 new reef frames at Kandooma to expand the local coral garden.
Coral reefs are under constant threat, but projects like this prove every small action makes a massive impact!

Hard to put moments like this into words!✨ Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, but a quarter of all marine life relies on them - not to mention the island communities whose livelihoods depend entirely on healthy waters.
Protecting places like this through education and grassroots community work is the whole reason APF exists. 🌊

First month update from our Bali river barrier! 🌊

In just 43 days of operation, our sponsored Sungai Watch trash barrier in Buduk has intercepted 183.47 kg of plastic before it could reach the ocean.

The quick breakdown:
• 124.37 kg collected in July alone
• 14.3 kg caught on average every single daily patrol
• 40.38 kg in our biggest single cleanup so far

This entire setup is funded directly through our In Paradise events and travel bookings with Perfect Wave and Perfect Travel Group. Every ticket/booking bought helps pay for the barrier, 12 months of location maintenance, and provides jobs for local cleanup crews.

Massive thanks to the Sungai Watch team for the daily heavy lifting! 💙
