The Brookton & Districts Historical Society would like to sincerely thank the Shire of Brookton for its ongoing support of our organisation.

Through the Community Chest Fund, the Shire has enabled us to purchase much-needed archival storage materials to help preserve and protect Brookton's collection for future generations. The grant has also allowed us to purchase new poster hanger frames, giving our exhibitions a more professional appearance and greater flexibility in how we share the stories of our community.

We would also like to thank the Shire for recently installing an internal door linking the former Charge Room to the rest of the building. Following a request from the Society, this improvement has made the museum space more functional and significantly improved security for our volunteers while working with the collection.

As a volunteer-run organisation that has been caring for Brookton's history for almost 50 years, support such as this makes a real difference. Thank you to the Shire of Brookton for helping us preserve, protect and share our community's heritage.

We’ve been a little quiet on socials lately while some internal renovations are underway, thanks Shire of Brookton, we greatly appreciate your support.

But the volunteers certainly haven’t been quiet behind the scenes, continuing to catalogue donations and work on the collection.

Recently, Nancy G Birch (nee Gartrell) donated some Brookton Junior High School photos. As always, time means not every face has a name and we’d also love help dating the photos.

We’ll post them separately and tag who we can. Keep an eye out… you might spot someone you know 😉
